Yip, pedestrians are the slowest part of my ride. I also hit is morning and evening. Plumstead is a good ride! met a guy that has been doing bellville to Rondebosch for the last 25 years on a bike!

I commute Century City to Claremont: Century City Train Station, 12th Ave, Old Mutual Train Station, Forrest drive etc. That is clearly an impoverished area known for crime ("The Avenues"), but I haven't read anyone being hijacked on this short cut, am I missing something here? For me this is one of the greatest little sneaks I have found in the city as it connects the south with the north fairly directly. Anyone have any news for me?

The one thing I learnt recently was that its quicker to cycle from Century City to Mowbray than it is to deal with M5 traffic at 5pm- shower included! I'm new to this forum as you can see- be great to find the correct thread for this sort of beta
