  1. the silverback is a 2015 model so ja the components will have less wear on it but with any second hand bike you do take a chance. Both are running tubeless. Think I will have to get myself citted just to make sure I am buying the right frame size. I currently have a 26er in Large frame and sometimes it does tend to feel a bit small for me. I have also read that one must not compare a 26er to a 29er when it comes down to size. don't know how true that is
  2. Both bikes are XL. I am 1.85m tall so looking at a XL size bike.
  3. Hi all I need your valued input on the following: I am considering buying one of the following bikes 2013 Titan Elite https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/244540-titan-elite-extra-large-29er/ 2015 Silverback Sola 3 https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/george/silverback-sola-3-mountain-bike-29er/1001955648660910003366309 Both bikes have similar specs, both Rockshox Recon, Both Deore components, just the rear derailler on the Titan is Shimano XT and the Silverback one is SLX. Titan has Tektro Draco Hydraulic Brakes while the Silverback has Shimano Hydraulic brakes What in your opinion is the better bike to buy. I must say the Titan is a good looking bike but I am not sure of their resale value or after sale service your input will be appreciated Thanks
  4. Thanks for your input, its much appreciated. Think I will have to take my time and consider a few options before I purchase
  5. Hi all, I am keen to start mountain biking again after a long break. I have a price range of 8k The thing is I would like decent components on my bike (deore and up) with a decent air shock (looking at hardtails). Please bear in mind that I am not that clued up with the latest components, still busy studying up on the changes) My problem is that for 8k, the new bikes do not have that great components on and therefore I will also be considering 2nd hand. Valencia Bikes are running a great promo on an Axis A30 ( http://www.vbike.co.za/ ) and according to Axis website http://www.axis-bikes.com/bikes/mountain-series/a30 the bike seems to gave decent components. To come to the point, I would appreciate any feedback regarding Axis bikes as I am not to familiar with the brand, is it a brand to go for or is it a now go? Same question goes for Titan bikes? Is it a brand to go for? I have been looking on the classified pages and there are quite some nice Scott's at the 8k mark. Older models but decent components. So I am in a bit of 2 minds on how to proceed Your input will be much appreciated Thanks Jaco
