  1. Hey everyone, just thought I'd give you an update. Took the bike into the Shop to have a look. Turned out my BB was completely full of dirt and seized up so had to be replaced. R200 later for a new BB + a minor service, and all sorted. Kinda glad now I didn't take it completely apart myself.... Thank you to each and everyone of you for the comments, suggestions and assistance. Really appreciate it! Was awesome getting such support! Thanks
  2. Thanks Martin... Honestly thinking of following the advice of just taking it in to the shop where I bought it. Bike is 2 months old... I'm definitely not confident yet in taking all the components apart.
  3. Hi Wannabe Embarrassed to say this... but no. I couldn't get to them. Turns out I need to go stock up on very specific tools in order to take the bike apart. My normal Tool set didn't have the 12.5(?) Socket I needed it seems...
  4. I'm actually thinking that is the way to go. It's not even 2 months old and I don't feel comfortable taking components apart and trying to troubleshoot. Thanks for all the assistance guys, I will most likely do exactly that.
  5. Status Update so far... I removed the pedals, greased them and still have the click. I've also washed all components and de-greased the chain but the problem persists. I've pinpointed the click to my applying downward pressure when pedaling. Almost as if the entire crank may be moving due to excessive force on it?!? Next up I'll try looking at that maybe? When pedaling with no force being applied or when pedaling fast in lower gears / downhill the sound is also gone. So definitely relating to me exerting downward force. It does seem though that the "ratchet-like" sound on the left is gone though.
  6. Thank you. The more I'm reading up it looks like it could be Chain Ring Bolts. I'll go have a look this afternoon. Thanks again for all the friendly advice
  7. Thank you. Will definitely follow the advice when I get home later.
  8. Thank you Nick Will definitely try all of this out. Thanks for all the comments everyone, really appreciate a forum where people try and help.
  9. Thanks Pulse. Just found it so odd that it hits in very precise pedaling positions though, hence why I didn't even consider dirt. Honestly though a crank or thread that's worn out.
  10. Awesome, thanks everyone for the input so far! Will definitely have a look at all the suggestions. Just glad that it seems the general direction of the feedback is due to dirt / pedals and not pointing to some major issue like gears or something. Thank you everyone
  11. Hi Guys I'm very new to the world of MTB'ing, so hope I can draw from some expert knowledge here before having to head out to a workshop. I have a Titan 650b (just over a month old) and it's been riding like a dream. However from yesterday afternoon, whenever I'm pedaling I get a single *click* sound on my right pedal when it's at the top of the rotation (12 o'clock position) and my left pedal makes like a ratchet sound starting from the 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock position. So I end up with this *click* right and then ratchet Left on every pedal cycle. Any ideas what could be causing this? I can't see anything visible and wasn't about to take the entire bike apart before seeking some advice? I looked on the web, but these answers seem very varied. It happens in all my gears and regardless of seating or standing position. When I'm "freeing" downhill, there is no sound so guessing crank maybe? Thanks all, I'd really appreciate you input. Cheers!
