Event Name: Tour De Farm When: 6 May 2017 Where: 4 Brothers Aartappel Pakstoor, Blanco George, Western Cape Category: MTB Beautiful jeep track, single track and gravel roads in the Blanco area near George. Never ridding before this route crosses 6 farms letting riders experience all there is to experience on a working farm. Riding through sheds, mielie fields, working milking farms, hopp fields and even a working horse farm. Going through silos and over dam walls this promise to be a mtb race with a different angle!! Event Name: Redstone Hill Mtb & Trail Running Weekend When: 13 May 2017 Where: Buffelskloof, Kruisrivier Calitzdorp, Western Cape Category: MTB Redstone is a never-to-be-forgotten experience – cyclists and runners are able to spend a full weekend with their families in the unique Red Mountains enjoying the hospitality of Calitzdorp, its people and its magnificent surroundings. There are activities and delicious food throughout the weekend for everyone in the family. This is the 11th year that we are staging the Redstone weekend and the second decade will see a few exciting changes. The first major change is that Jakhals Events will take over the race organising duties from Dryland Event Management who will continue their relationship with Redstone as a major infrastructure sponsor. Other changes include the addition of a 17km MTB route to cater for the junior MTB riders in the Eden District and a 5km fun event - aimed at the younger kids and perhaps some of the "older" citizens. On Friday evening, after the night ride and fun run, the social event is a potjiekos dinner with live music. On Saturday, as part of the "plaasbasaar", you will be able to buy meat (beef, lamb and mutton) at the "Vleistafel". As last year, the children will be able to experience and enjoy a collection of farm animals. This year a beer garden with a big screen will be available for all the thirsty runners and riders!! What started as a local-ward project became a parish project of the Dutch Reformed Church Calitzdorp and then evolved into a community project under the auspices of the Redstone Hills Trust.
