  1. Thanks so much for all the advise. It is much appreciated!
  2. Thanks for all the info. I will look into that.
  3. Thanks, I will have a look. I do not know the brand, but I am looking at something that will be simple to fix.
  4. What would be the ideal bike for long distance travelling, with panniers?
  5. I grew up like that too. No big choices and just happy to have a bike.
  6. Yes, I suppose nothing in life has a magic answer, but we try to make the right choices and unfortunately, costs are also involved. I have recently bought a Trek Fuel ex 5 and am still wondering if I made the right choice. Some people frown upon it, although I like the bike. Not sure if it is a bit heavy, but I could also shed 2kg myself and save K10. Thanks for your reply.
  7. Out of curiosity, I am posting this topic. Which bikes would be the real all rounders in dual suspension bikes? If one wants to do Sunday riding, a race now and then, maybe tour for a week or two, a bit of single track and do dirt roads and a stage race now and then... Is there an ideal bike out there?
  8. Does anyone have advice on where the best place would be to go for a proper bike fitting? Pmb is the closest but Durban not out of reach.
  9. Which bike have you decided on in the end? Just wondering as I have also been looking at the Trek Fuel ex5.
  10. If there are any clubs in Kwazulu Natal that are planning to go down to do the K2C, and have a seat to spare, I am looking for a lift to go and do the race. It is no use going on my own and flying is too expensive. It can't hurt to ask around on the hub.
