  1. 3 seats left for a lekker lunch and MTB related chat. Let me know if you can make it
  2. Mountainbikers: I'm offering a free lunch today (Wed). In Sunninghill at Focus rooms. 12h00-14h00. Great food. The swap is a chance to pick your brains about something new I have in mind. Limited to 10 places. Preference given to non 'A-types' - looking for those with a revolutionary mindset. If you're ride more for fun than to race, then this is your call up. Please let me know if available (garethochse@gmail.com). Feel free to share with other mountainbikers. 10 seats only - please let me know by email. 3 seats left - please pitch if you can make it.
  3. I've ridden both the captain controls and the conti race king. I think the race king is a more durable tyre (thicker sidewalls) but its not a tyre for mud/wed conditions. The captain control is a great all rounder, corners well, suitable for front and back wheels, handles wed and dry (but is not a full mud tyre). My only problem with the captain was punctures. If the specialised captain control was made with stronger sidewalls (note that I haven't used 1 for about 2 years, so the spec may have improved) then I would ride this tyre and drop everything else. If I was only doing dry hardpack riding then I'd do the race king on the back and a mountain king on the front.
  4. Have the people who witnessed the incident reported it or laid a charge at a police station? That's the only real way to get this sorted. Myself and others experienced a similar aggression from a local farmer (white hilux double-cab) a few years back on the sand road that goes around the Buffelspoort dam. If the same guy then he's gained about 30kgs... @Gash - have any charges been laid?
