  1. Hi there Wonder whether anyone can give me some advice regarding suitable cleats and shoes for my new road bike. I'm intending to replace my ten year old Olympic shoes with a new pair. Any recommendations? I've been struggling with the Ryder cleats that came with the new road bike. They are not the easiest to 'click into' - which makes stopping and starting slightly frustrating. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also of places near Southern Suburbs where to get the items. Having a bike fitting on Monday - so need to purchase before then. Really appreciate any advice and suggestions Thanks
  2. Your advice has been so helpful - Thank you Thought I'd sum up so far - but please feel to add additional suggestions: Giant TCR - Advanced Disc, latest Shimano R7000 hydraulic brake groupset Cannondale Caad - very light, better than other entry carbon bikes Cannondale Supersix Silverback Sirelli 2 Specialized Tarmac Should definitely aim for hydraulic brake groupset, 25c tyres, 10 speed but 11 speed easier in that price bracket Dont aim for anything that's too exclusive or proprietary as will be difficult to get spares in the coming years. Please feel free to add any other info Since talking about other car types, would Bianchi be a Porsche?
  3. Ahh great stuff! These comments are really helpful!! Thank you Will definitely check out the Giant TCR Any others worth taking a look at? Liked Joss Turner's comments … definitely functionality over bling
  4. With a budget of R30 000 and 'hopefully' a good seeding for CTCT, any recommendations of what road bike I should buy? New or Used? Been riding a Raleigh RC-1800 for past 8yrs. Bike Fit assessment says frame size 56/58. Is there like a Toyota Fortuner of road cycling that everyone buys … reliable, plenty of spare parts and very sharp. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Not just brands but specific type of bikes I should look out for.
