  1. Put something together last night about my build. Will still review the ride and durability. MickeyM CS-821 Build A.pdf
  2. I will do a full review when I get a gap. Haven’t fully tested it yet. Solty did the spray job myself. The name Cwili River is a little river that runs into the sea in Kei Mouth where all my family is from. My favorite spot in SA! @Boerklong Did you also build a CS-821 from XMC? Where did it crack?
  3. Thought I would share as I received a lot of good advice from this thread.
  4. Finally completed my chiner build. CS-821 from XM-Carbonspeed
  5. Wouldn’t feel right to name and shame after him agreeing to a refund....
  6. Happy to report that the seller has today agreed to a refund. Thank you for all of the input. Respect ✊.
  7. Been buying a lot from CWC during my latest bike build. After being screwed on the classifieds with an unethical bugger selling me an OD2 fork, I was desperate! Steven arranged that CWC trim a 120mm fork down to 100mm (no stock of 100mm) and couriered it the same day and at a very reasonable price. Means I can finish my build this weekend. I am so grateful for the excellent service. CWC, I am a fan!!!
  8. I appreciate all of the views. I will send a link to the seller and give him a chance to make good failing which I will publish on the forum so as to prevent this from happening to other hubbers.
  9. Thank you all for your responses. I have already bought the headset and the stem for this build. The additional cost and lead time of a new headset and stem is an annoying prospect.
  10. I must add that if the general consensus is that’s I am at fault, I will just take the knock and try to sell it on.
  11. Thank you for your view Johan. I did not bother to ask for the dimensions of the taper because all of the ad’s on the classifieds indicate either tapered or straight. None of them go into the detail of the dimensions due to the accepted standard. @dragorosso yip the legal and crazy will cost me but I am one of those that insist on fairness and if the general consensus on the forum is that I was misled, I am happy to take the crazy legal route.
  12. Hi Hubbers, I would like to do a sanity check please. Am I being ridiculous or was I misled? I recently bought a Rockshox SID from the Bike Hub Classifieds for R5500. I asked the seller if it was tapered and he indicated that it was. When trying to fit the fork to my new build I realized that it was a Giant OD 2 fork meaning 1.5’’ to 1.25’’ as opposed to the standard taper of 1.5” to1-1/8”. The seller did not mention that it was an OD2. Am I justified in asking for a refund and returning the fork? I feel that I have been misled. The seller now wants to ask a lawyer if he misled me. I feel this is poor form. Would appreciate some rational input.
