  1. Big brother is always watching, I'm afraid....
  2. I have both already, just picked up the Di2 today, from a scrap bin, of all places! Everything is in perfect order, and works 100%.... just trying to decide which to run on the race bike, and which to run on the training bike. I agree with pretty much everything you've said about the Di2 system, so I guess I'll be sticking to Ultegra! Thanks for the input!
  3. I dont actually know what is making me consider the DA over Ultegra. I think perhaps its both options - DA as well as electronic, even though it is 2 generations ago. But then looking at the Ultegra, it just looks so much damn nicer!!, AND it has an extra gear!!
  4. I dont have any issues with my Di2, except that the largest I can go on the rear is 27. On the Ultegra, I can have up to 34, although I'd be running a 30. I live in a super hilly area... Plus, I'd have 11 instead of 10 on the back...
  5. Hi all I have a choice to make - 10spd Dura Ace 7970 Di2 or 11spd Ultegra R8000 mechanical - which one to choose, and why??
  6. So what do you all think the chances are of Zwift doing a CTCT route or something along those lines? Chappies, Suikerbossie, Ou Kaapse Weg, things like that? Question is purely because its New York, Stuttgart, London, Harrogate and Watopia...would be nice to see something in the Southern Hemisphere, closer to home!
  7. Perhaps never mind... I've been doing a bit of internetting, and the prices that come up seem to be insane!! £400 to ship a frame from UK to SA?? Complete madness.
  8. Hi all. I've recently been lucky enough to get my hands on a new bike frame, one that actually fits my 6 foot something body. Now, I'm in the lucky position to have a Boardman Pro SLR frame lying around the garage that is WAY too small for me - I should be on a 59/60 - this is a 50!! I had built the bike up but had never actually ridden it. And here comes the question - how could I ship it over to SA from the UK, to donate to someone who needs a frame, can't afford one, and has massive passion? I wouldn't want anything for the frame and fork, I would only want that it went to someone who would put it to really good use - and that does not include selling it on for a pretty penny! So any advice guys? And just so you know what frame I am talking about: https://road.cc/content/tech-news/179199-just-boardman-road-pro-slr I feel I should add - the frame is in very good condition, few small pieces of silicon around the cable inlets (was running Di2 wiring) , and a few minor scratches...would also include a headset, seat post, stem and BB (yes, I know its a PFBB30, but hey, such is life!)
  9. This brought tears to my eyes... I left SA nearly 10 years ago, to "see the world"..... and every Argus time, I miss home more than anything. I'd done 11 "tours" by the time I'd left... one day I'll be back! Just need to figure out what the new seeding system is about! My last ride was still a,b,c,d etc.... My best time was 2:42 in 2001, still a young whipper snapper back then!!
  10. RobertWhiteHead that exactly what I use - Rouvy. Also not a fan of Swift, and Rouvy connects directly to Trainingpeaks, so downloads the days training session automatically. Using an Elite Drivo for indoor.
  11. Until I'd started this training plan, my training has always been - get on the bike and ride. Didn't have structure or a goal, get as many km in as my legs could handle in one session.
  12. Dave303e, that's a way of looking at it that I never thought about... I'm using a trainingpeaks plan, with an FTP of 250. I guess my real concern is that after a session, I feel as if I haven't actually done a workout! Riteshm has pretty much describes the plan I'm on, zone 2 for the most part, with 2 hard sessions a week, 5 sessions in total a week....
  13. I am signed up for a criterium series, starting in May this year... now, its absolutely freezing here in the UK, and WAY too much rain. I have my indoor trainer working over time, now my question is: Is watt based training better than distance training? Especially in terms of Cat 3 criterium racing? Thanks all.
  14. Its still up and running... was going to post some screen shots, but no idea how!
