  1. I am a big fan of the Brain. . . Love the new Epics, but I will do the upgrade for now. Times are uncertain and to fork out all that cash for a new bike is maybe a bit reckless. . . Who said we cannot come to this page for sound financial advice?
  2. Afternoon All Thanks for everyone's comments. Even the financial advice was worth reading! It's the 1st time I post something like this on Bikehub and I am very pleased with all the comments and advice! Thanks!
  3. Thanks, I think I will go with the upgrade for now. My GX is still in great condition and can replace my wife's NX, or when I eventually do sell the bike I can put the GX back and give her my AXS? The 2022 bikes should be out in 6-8 months anyway. . . Let's see what the new models are like, or even pick-up a brand new 2021 for a bit of a better price?
  4. I Currently run Sram GX. Casette (10-50) and chain is less than 6 months old. As far as I am aware I will only need derailleur & Shifter? Price on google is around R25k
  5. Is X01 AXS upgrade kit available in SA? X01 will do just fine. . .
  6. Main difference is Sram GX vs Sram X01 AXS and new design frame with slight tweaks in geometry. Same carbon material frame (fact11). Rockshox Sid Brain Fork basically the same. Same carbon wheels.
  7. Question: is it worth spending money on this upgrade or do I save a bit longer and buy a brand new bike with the groupset as standard? I currently have a 2019 Specialized Epic Expert. Love the bike! I have no hassles with it, it’s in great condition! It rides like a dream! If I do replace it, it will be with a 2021 Specialized Epic Pro. But the price tag is R149k. 1.Should I spend the R25k and do the AXS upgrade on my current bike? 2. I can get a decent price for my bike as it is in great condition, no scratches and maintained and serviced by Specialized. I will have to pay in around R90k for the new bike. Looking for some advice and recommendations. . .
  8. Thanks Patchelicious. It seems Lefty is the way to go. That was my initial gut feeling. . . Saw a video on youtube with lefty vs RS1. Can clearly see what you are referring to.
  9. In the market for a Scalpel 3, but saw a KTM Scarp Prestige today for roughly the same price with RS1. KTM slighty lighter according to manufacturers specs. Now I like both bikes ????
  10. Give me your opinion? Can you even compare the 2? What do you prefer and why?
