  1. Saw what looked like a pretty gnarly crash this morning going down chappies to Noordhoek - does anyone know if the rider's OK or what happened? We pushed on to not increase the traffic jam (and risk) going down since there were already some cars that stopped to assist and ambulances were passing us a little later too.
  2. :/ Feels like I'm going nuts. I could have sworn I read a reply on how to get this to work, and now it's gone. Maybe I dreamt it.
  3. Hoping to get some help here. I've googled around and can't find the exact thing, but I'm guessing if it's possible someone on here would have figured out how. The problem: I want to be able to view WHERE I am on an elevation profile for a certain route - quite practically, I've often done (Mtb) races and pulled out my phone to look at the elevation map, cross that to how many km's we've done, and been able to go "OK, looks like we have that x big climb left", or "we're this far now into that hard piece" etc. I'm wondering if somehow, using the EDGE 520's segments or route profiles, you can load a race's route before the ride and be able to map yourself during it on the unit itself. i.e. on one of your data screens, have some version of the 'total' race and be able to track yourself on it.
  4. OMG Windpomp is amazing! Someone needs to buy John a beer!
  5. So it seems like i am indeed a little crazy Maybe our frame of reference is a little b0rked: we are used to running ultra marathons together, so long rides / runs = lots of talking... It just seems to me like a fairly uncomplicated tech requirement (basicallly a small 2-way radio), or even a bluetooth device that tethers from your phone. I'll give up the search for now...
  6. I've searched around a bit but can't find anything out there (from the last 3 years), so I'm assuming I might be going nuts. My GF and I ride together, but through the wind and (sometimes some) distance it gets very hard to talk or communicate during the ride. Other than the safety concerns it also just makes it less enjoyable. I've been looking around for a cycling specific bluetooth or intercom type headset, but it doesn't really seem to be a thing. Am I being crazy / is there no need for this out there? What are you guys doing - just enjoying the silence?
