Jenny is looking super strong! Well ahead of the record ladies dot, and 200km lead on the 2nd lady. Probably going to hit the tar road between Ceres and Bains in the early morning before sunrise if she doesn't stop too long in Ceres.. I wouldn't want to be on that piece of road with a bicycle just after pay day.. apart from being a target, broken glass everywhere.

Vernon Rudman and Liza Vivier always ride events together and was riding together up until now.. Looks like he made a tough call to leave her behind at WP5 to try and stay ahead of the cut dot himself..

The cut dot is just an imaginary line at average speed between Wednesday 12:00 and Monday 12:00. You are allowed to fall behind it, you just need to be at the designated cut-off points in time. Usually there are a few guys falling behind the dot, then get a lekker downhill and catch it again. Gemmerbal is flirting way too much with this idea though!

My sister lives there and is coming to visit SA next weekend. In the past she managed to smokkel in a a few small parts for me I bought online at Bike24, but they don't have in stock what I'm looking for.

Hang on, Thinus is actually busy making a move! Left it a little too late though.. PS. I don't really think this is a true reflection as Drikus just finished climbing and Thinus still has that to come. That gap will probably pull back out now.

Here's an even better example of how Drikus is dominating the rest of the field.. (For some reason Thinus isn't showing at the moment)

I lived in Upington for 5 years and worked with Frank during the years he had cancer. Learned so much from him and a great role model. He was very weak when I left Upington, and I lost contact with him. Always wondered how he was doing.. I was genuinely surprised and so happy to see him lining up few years ago!! Glad he is doing better!

At the pace that Drikus is going he is going te reach Doolhof around 12.. almost 2hrs faster than record pace
