Schwinn Moab Elite stolen in Stellenberg on Friday 20 December 2013. Some guys in a bakkie with a closed canopy were in the area selling fish. Bike was locked in my Bakkie parked outside the house. Bike stolen without front wheel, same makes as attached pic, except bottle cages black.

 

Lesson to all, don't assume bike is safe when locked in Bakkie.

[Road bike for newbie]

Hey all, what are good options in the entry-level road bike bracket for a beginner? Trying first Argus this year, 3 months "training" on an old mtb, 1 month on a friend's old Le Jeune road bike. After almost having my fillings rattled out at the Three Passes on Sunday, I seriously need to buy a bike.

Can anyone suggest a 2-week tapering programme for this year's Argus? Am a total newbie, background of long slow distance mostly. Think I've been overdoing the training bit (even at my snail's pace), as I haven't seen much performance gain from my training, which is why I'm guessing I'd be better off doing a good taper into the event than training myself silly right up to the start...
