  1. Thanks for all the feedback - it will be a bit of riding through our suburban areas, (George - so nice and quiet) and possibly some farm roads over the weekends. Would not let her out on her own should something happen/ go wrong. Certainly no races planned .... yet at least. Its all to get fit and out there, plus a bit of training for a New Zealand wine cycle tour next year. Again - thanks for the info and feedback - much appreciated Safe riding
  2. Apologies for the ambiguity - she is starting to take up cycling again. Has not ridden for ages, tested out a friends ebike and manged it pretty much ok without falling.
  3. There it is - ironically basically identical in colour to my hard tail that got stolen
  4. I went from Scott hardtail and after much this way and that way, bought the alloy RC900. suits my riding perfect and I do not regret a thing. Love the dual lockout system. Also considered the spez, but as you said, the brain even though there was 5 year service.
  5. Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice on ebikes. My mother at the age of 67 is starting to cycle. All very amped to get her going. Looking at an ebike for her, but not really sure of the main things to look for. Have narrowed down to the Liv Valle 3 and the silverback of similar price, both around 36 to 40 depending on where it is bought from. Is there anything major of difference between these two? Thanks
  6. Hey All, It is time that I move from my hard tail onto something a bit more comfy. A little bit about my riding - I live right in the heart of the garden route so we have trails a plenty - single track, long mountain roads, jeep tracks etc etc . I am never going to win any major event, but enjoy the jol. Not looking to do massive jumps, but will have some fun naturally. I have seen a few good options for around R45k and must say I like the spez - only thing that concerns me is the brain - although I believe that for the first 5yrs they will maintain the brain free of charge, so this makes it quite attractive. Momsen I hear can be an issue for the warranty Trek Fuel 8 seems cool Scott - they are also great (I had a hardtail and loved it) Any other ideas - advice - please - this bike must last me a while Thanks All
  7. Hey All, Looking to move away from the hardtail and onto something a bit more comfy for the trails and bumps. Have seen a couple options, really quite keen on the Specialized epic Comp, seems well priced and spec'd. I am just not entirely sure of the brain - how well do they work? how pricey are they when they go wrong? and how often do they require service etc? Looking forward to your comments and any other suggestions of bikes!
