  1. Hi Guys, I recently bought a new specialized evo in March 2021 and derailleur (Shimano SLX) spring recently stopped working. It was sent back to Shimano in Joburg and they said unfortunately the spring is damaged and they do not cover that in the warranty. They do not cover it as the damage is caused from the spring not getting serviced and looked after and lubed. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had the same issue before and does that sound right? Cheers
  2. Hi Guys, Getting an upgrade and was looking into stand-alone (i.e. not with household content) bike insurance. The value of the new bike will be a about R65k. Would like to get some advice on the best companies to use? Thanks
  3. Hi Guys, I lost a bike light on the 20th of June around 11am near the G-Spot in Stellenbosch. If anyone hears of anyone handing it in, it would be greatly appreciated I have attached two pictures, one of the the location and another of what the light looks like. Kind Regards, Mark Narramore 083 406 0571
  4. Hi Robbie, Yeah bike was new. Wouldn't say I ride more than 3 times a week and I don't think my chicken legs would put out the kind of watts to be a "hard rider" Yeah I think the bike shop will try with the LBS. Thanks for reply
  5. Hi Guys, I ride a Merida Ninety-Six 800 which runs a 148x12mm width rear hub (Bike bought in June 2018). It looks like I have to get a new one because it keeps "stripping" (lack of a better word) i.e. you pedal and don'y go any where It has been repaired twice and it keeps happening. Heard Novatec and Hope rear Hubs are pretty good. Still quite new to riding so looking to hear your guys opinions. Thanks, Mark
  6. Hey Guys, Been looking at buying some bibs and was hoping to get some guidance on sizing. I have tried on a couple and while a large feels too tight the XL generally feels better. I am about 6.3 in height and my waist is about 34-36. I have been told you want it "snug" as the padding can move around and you have to account for a slightly hunched over position at times hence my confusion. What would you guys recommend on the sizing L / XL ? Cheers, Mark
  7. Thanks for the reply - the answer I was hoping for
  8. Attached is another picture Jackson, let me know if you guys need more pics
  9. Hi Guys, My bike fell over in the house - dog knocked it over and with it the derailleur broke off at the hanger (i think). I have attached a picture and was hoping you guys could clarify? The bike is 3 months old (Merida Ninety-Six 800 - 2018). Thanks guys
