  2. Stay up to date on the development of the the first permanent Challenge class and Supercross BMX track on the continent! This will allow our SA riders looking to bridge the gap from local racing into the Supercross world series a lot easier. The track design will be three double straights with the fourth straight being combined. Like our page https://www.facebook.com/KZNBMXCommission on facebook to stay up to date. The track is being designed and built by Elite Trax http://www.elitetraxinc.com Track shaping will be completed by the end of August, with the SX start hill around the end of September. The track is a joint initiative between KZN Sports & Recreation , KZN BMX and Giba Gorge MTB Park. Also check out http://kznbmx.co.za/ to stay up to date on the development initiatives of KZN BMX as they make every effort to bring to life the one cycling discipline that develops bike skills that last a life time. 3. Heads up people. Two riders were on their way to Giba and were riding the route over the pedestrain bridge which crosses the N3 before dropping down onto the dirt rd that heads towards Giba. They were held up at knife point and robbed of one bike and both cell phones. Luckly no injuries. Please be aware that the bridge is a main foot traffic route connecting the local Marionhill community to Westmead Pinetown. I myself have ridden this bridge a few times, but never felt like it was a good idea. Please avoid it if possible. ( I dont think many people do use it) Please be aware. Thanks, Jason
  4. Hi Pusher, We are 15 mins outside of Durbs. Near Pinetown. www.gibagorge.co.za
  5. Hi Everyone, Just a heads up that Giba Gorge MTB Park has registered itself as an official cycling club for 2011. Everyone who has a paid up "Annual Park Membership" to Giba, will be legible for a free club membership. Anyone not an Annual Park Member can also join the club at a cost of R50. We will basically be operating a no frills membership much like ROAG has offered, but we do have a bike park facility, so organising social evenings etc will definitely be a part of the package. As the member count grows, we will listen to the members and direct the clubs growth to meet our members wishes. Yes its true, we do not know much about running a Cycling Club, but then again, we didn't know much about opening a bike park either.. I think we have done okay thus far. We are here for the long haul, so feel its best we integrate ourselves completely into the sport and offer our members an official place to hang out and socialise, and now with a club we can make your voices heard. If we reword it, we could say "Club license is R840 a year, and members have unlimited free access to the park year round"... either way, we think its going to be a winner. Cheers, Giba Management.
  6. Within a week, (5th Feb 2010) we should be ready to start processing annual memberships for Giba Gorge MTB Park. Our 2010 rates are 30% less then last year, in order to actively drive memberships. Ultimately we are looking to make it a no brainer.. if you come twice a month, you are better off on an annual membership. Our new rates will be ...
