  1. Thanks for the comments everyone. I do appreciate it 🙏🏻. I am currently looking at doing a section of the Cross Cape (Calitsdorp to Plettenberg Bay +-330km). It looks like amazing scenery on this section. Is there another section of the cross cape that you would recommend? Sorry for all the questions. I'm trying to get as much info of the various routes as I possibly can to help me make a decision 😁. Yet again thanks!
  2. Thanks for the advice. We are actually looking to ride more or less 350 km in 5-6 days. Do you have any suggestion?
  3. Hi everyone, My girlfriend and I am planning to do a Bikepacking trip at the end of November and preferably somewhere in the Western-Cape. We have already done the official Karoo Cross Route that can be found on cape cycle route website. We are planning to do a 5-6 day route where we will camping and staying over in B&B's. I have already looked at the Overberg Route as well as a section of the Cape Cross Route. Any route suggestions will be appreciated.
  4. Thanks everyone for your input! I do appreciate it. We did the Karoo Cross a week ago and it was definitely an epic adventure. I will try post a daily report of the trip in the week to come but if you want to take a look at some of pictures you can head over to my Instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/gouws.cobus/
  5. Thank you for your input guys. I do appreciate. We have the decided on the Karoo Cross. We will be cycling more or less 50 km per day.
  6. I am interested in doing one of these official cycletoruing routes in November. Is anyone familiar with these routes and what option would you suggest? Your help will be appreciated!! Official routes Here
  7. Some advice would be appreciated guys. A friend and I are planning to bike-pack the official Overberg Meander route in November. Is anyone familiar with the route and how safe is the route? We are both 26. Thanks guys!
  8. My comment may be a bit bias but I have recently bought a titan drone elite. I can comment from my point of view that this is an excellent bike and you get great specs for what you pay.
  9. Definitely doable. My mates and I have done it on two occasions. The first time was in 2016 when we were in varsity. We did more or less 100km a day and we were definitely not even weekend warriors. You should give it a try.. An amazing experience.
  10. Hi JB, I have a google maps link of both trails we did. Send me your email address and ill email them to you.
  11. A few friends and I have been doing some cycle touring the last two years. One from Amersfoort to Balito(584km) and the second from Harrismith to Amanzimtoti (389km). Both were amazing. This is our final year at university and we want to finish it with a cycle tour to remember. We were thinking of doing the Cape Cross cycle this December. We are from Pretoria and will probably fly to George and start the route from there. Any advice before we start planning? Also, are there any cycle touring route options that is a must beside the Cape Cross? Thank you!!
