  1. Later, after I have created a skrill account... here the punch line: Here I was able to see the scam! "Thanks for the email but I need to inform you about this, I got a message from the pickup agent, am most sure I include that in my previous emails, he said he wouldn't be able to come for the pickup unless I pay him the agent commission fee via shop-rite first in order to be able to schedule a pickup time, I would have loved to pay him directly via shop-rite but there is no way I can pay online! So I have to ask you to help me with the pickup fees, I will include the R2,450 he has charged me to pick up the item with a (1st class treatment), to the payment I will be sending to your Skrill account, so after I have made the payment I will need you to help me send the R2,450 to the pickup agent through Shop-rite. I will send a total payment of R27,300 into your Skrill account, which means R24,800 for the Item while R2,450 for the Pick-Up fee and the remaining R50 will be for the Shop-rite charges for sending the fund to the agent. Is that clear to you? I will make the payment as soon as you agree to help me with this. Kind Regards.
  2. Hi, Indeed glad you asked as it is not so easy to pick up the scam form this low life... here is the first email this POS sent. Note the bold statement below. I should have picked that up by then... "Hope you're doing great. I am interested in buying this for my cousin as a surprise for him, if only you can assure me that everything is in order. I am a petroleum engineer currently on a rig offshore, I want this to be a surprise for my cousin so I won't let him know anything about this until it gets delivered to him. It will be a secure payment via Skrill as I'm on a rig offshore. So let me know if you have an account with Skrill so I can arrange for the payment asap. Please note, a pick up agent will be coming for the pickup as soon as I have made the payment"
  3. Hi, Since I've posted on both platforms, it could be the case indeed. He sent an email... The dilusional still wants to convince me that he/she is legit... I am making lose time, at least less time to scam someone else. What a SOB.
  4. Watch out for a low life that goes under the alias Martin Jacobson. Tried to scam me out of R2450 "agent fee" for a bike pick up. Supposedly using Skrill money transfer to pay for the bike while asking me to "advance" cash for a pick up agent... transfer via Shop-rite money transfer... So you all know... you will receive emails from skrill.funds@consultant.com confirming the the funds have been transfered... IT'S FAKE. Note that emails addresses from @consultant.com are suspicious.
  5. The bike was not insured itself, we had house contents insured... thus, not the bikes (had 6 bikes hanging on the garage wall at the time, fortunately only this one was stolen... closest to the garage door). I had an add on gumtree for this bike and another one (KTM Rev) prior to the theft… I posted the stolen bike add (both on gumtree and bikehub)… Montecristo, notified me even before I knew the bike was stolen… which I can only thank him… regardless if the bike is recovered or not… I am really thankful. Not really upset for the comments about the incident, but the negative comments on Montecristo, who just tried to help… that is absolutely unnecessary and wrong… and sets a really bad precedent… I no longer hope to recover the bike, nor the other items… already given up on the triathlon idea (second bike that does not fit)… time to stick with duathlon and recreational swimming. I believe the decent action is to restore confidence on forum members that are indeed looking out for each others on the road, rather than entertaining a few bad comments. Davidson
  6. If you have noticed, I do not go to this forum very often, otherwise, I would have attempted to stop this mess along time ago... No, neither the bike, nor by GS accessories have been recovered... I got a call from the detective this morning and still nothing... I am was at one time offering a reward, and thus the reason, the detective call to withdraw from it... as it will only create further waste of time I am not concerned with story adding up… most concerned as some of comments on Montecristo, for doing what I honestly hope would be most appreciated action… Comments I have now read, set a very dangerous precedent, where if anyone learns of a stolen good, will think twice before alerting the community because of people like these. PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO MONTECRISTO AT LEAST. YOU KNOW IT WAS WRONG…
  7. Either you are really dumb, or just miserably trying to be funny.
  8. Its amazing how you take conclusions based on your lack of integrity. Not all of us, have same integrity or lack thereof. The bike was bought on this very same website, and I had it upgraded with a R15000 brand new groupset, as well other components, but would not fit me nor a nephew which I hoped would fit, unfortunately it did not fit him as well as he managed to outgrow my expectations… which I then decided to sell it back on gumtree… (and for your information, I had 3 offers, waiting my return to SA to collect the bike). If it wasn´t for Montecristo, I would not even learn about the theft until the 8th March when I returned to Cape Town for the Argus… The bike was never insured nor I intended to do so, along with the bike, my GS tankbag, GPS unit and fog lights were also stolen… police is still on the lookout, and in fact just today I got a call from the detective on the case… I only learned about this thread of speculations, because the local store where I had the bike upgraded told be about these ridiculous comments from few forum members. Cyclists are already an fragile and small community, people like you, just make the wrong impression upon the rest of us. I HONESLTY HOPE YOU HAVE THE DECENCY TO APOLOGIZE FOR THIS SHAMEFUL DISPLAY OF CARATHER.
  9. Hi All, It is really disappointing when a member of this forum is actively trying to discredit a stolen report, and furthermore, a honest person who has taken the time to warn me of the theft itself. I can only thank Montecristo for letting me know, as I said before, I was out of country and only came home on the 8th for the Argus… Only today, I found out of these thread from friends and the local bike store… Hope the forum member @pista and others who have acted similarly to have the decency to apologize for their behaviour… really shameful Davidson

  11. Hi, thanks for the alert... I am currently out of country, and if it wasn´t for the altert I would not have known... Police is already notified...and on the way... Please keep an eye for it... let me know if you see it around... Thanks, Davidson
