It would be a fraudulent transaction if the funds used were from a stolen or compromised account, especially if it was from a credit card account. The original owner could then issue a fraudulent transaction which would cause an investigation which could lead to reversal of funds all the while my item has been shipped off. It is a common scam stated by FNB. Not an easy scam, but scam never the less. So Critical thinking ? It’s quite the opposite if you think these guys won’t do anything and everything to scam you.

Thanks everyone. It’s sorted. Been on the phone to FNB most of the afternoon and it is very very hard for reversal of eft even if the account was logged into illegally. appreciate the response

I agree. I’ve sent off the parcel already, but it’s got me thinking. I’m just checking to see first if anyone has experienced anything like this. If the amount paid was from a stolen account, the original person could report as fraud ? Then it could get reversed and then I’m without my item?

Chatted to FNB there’s no real way they can reverse it, the only issue could be is if the person who paid me is using a stolen or “hacked” account. Yes I did, just an Awesome bike! I have sold it and got the 29er version. If I could have kept it I wouldn’t have hesitated. If you’re looking at one, careful of sizing. Just as an example, my clash was a 2019 Large, my current meta AM is 2022 medium and it’s a tad bigger than my clash large.
