  1. Stephan I've got a Momsen Vipa trail one. I absolutely love mine..... You won't go wrong with the Vipa. https://community.bikehub.co.za/features/_/gear/reviews/review-momsen-vipa-trail-r6731 Read a few reviews....
  2. So these badboys arrived yesterday. First pair of flats I've ever owned and I can't be happier.
  3. VirenB I've been to the dark side , it's taken me probably three months now to find proper flat shoes. Mostly because businesses were out of stock (new stock arriving this month) and the fact that the options for flat shoes in SA is pretty poor. Email this guy and ask him ( baltazar@trailtechcycles.co.za ) he has been absolutely amazing and his service has been second to none. There is a new brand of flats launching today and available to SA customers. I'm buying me and the wife a pair, the reviews have been very good. Read up about it if you want https://www.mtb-mag.com/en/tested-ride-concepts-hellion-shoe/ Pop Balt a message and I'm sure he'll sort you out in no time.
  4. Amazing job. Looking forward to the final product.
  5. Thanks Gentlemen. That's all I needed to know. Appreciate your time.
  6. Hubbers I need advice from someone who has bought from an overseas company (in my case I'm looking to buy a few things from CRC). 1. How much can I prepare to spend on duties/tax once the item arrives on our shores? (shoes) 2. How long (average) would it take for the item to arrive?
  7. Ryperd I bought the Trail one and I couldn't be happier. What a pleasure to ride....
  8. I'm definitely doing this one next year. @JohanDiv please let us know how it went for you. Good luck with training I'm sure you'll smash it????
  9. Schoemies I bought a Vipa trail one three months ago. I can't be happier. You can get a brand new vipa within that price range. I spent a bit more (39k) to upgrade the groupset. I'm pretty sure all these bikes are amazing though. I can only comment from my experience. Hope you find something that works for you.
  10. Thanks Peeps That's all the convincing I need, I'll go for the flats (invest in proper shoes and pedals). Have a good weekend be safe out there
  11. Jako what shoes did you go for when using flats?
  12. Thanks Nick I'm in between two things now and that is to buy proper clipless shoes with the money I saved and stick to them or totally convert and spend my money on flats. Just thought this would be the perfect fit. I almost ordered these pedals this morning.... Man oh man I'm glad I posted this before that happened.
  13. Hi hubbers. I've been following bikehub religiously since December last year and bought most of my gear through this site. This is my first post... Has anyone tried these magped pedals or owned a pair that can give me honest feedback? At R2600 a pop I'd like to do my homework properly before taking the dive. Seems like the best of flats and clipless pedals combined but I'm not so sure about the pulling power of the magnets?? I’ve been playing around with the idea of moving to flats on my mtb (I went for a skills session and apparently your skills improve when one uses flats only) but I enjoy the stability that clipless provide. If these pedals are the real deal surely they are the way of the future and provide the best of both worlds. Any advice/info would be helpful.
