  1. Finally finished the 8 summits this weekend. Attached are the routes and profile. 92km's (about) 1600+ meters of climbing. Next goal, to continue up some of the routes through Northcliff Hill and make it 2000 meters of climbing YUMMY!!!!
  2. Hello Prozac, I would like to say I lay a claim to the name, but I am not too sure who may have named it before. If there is someone else, then it is a fantastic, coincidental, collusion of enthusiastic cycling minds. I posted the route on my fitrack training program this weekend. You are probably a memebr of the Jacaranda or 94.7 challenge. Unfortunately I was only able to do 6 of the eight summits on Saturday (had chores to do and a rugby game to watch!). The ride is simple. There are 8 ascents that connect Hendrick Potgieter to Robert Broom/Wilgerood/Christiaan de Wet, and Ontdekkers. Hendrik Potgieter is a death trap, so I chose the “upper” roads as my connecting links, which is in itself a damm hilly route too. Besides the traffic, which you just have to accept, the route is challenging and enjoyable. If you leave really early then the traffic is not so bad. I left at 5, but next time I'm going to leave at 4:30. Different levels of steep ascents make the workout tough and interesting. The hills are as follows, Sterkfontein, Krugersdorp hill, Doreen Road, Christiaan de Wet, Jim Fouche, Golf Club terrace, 14th ave (M8) and Gordon road. I only managed to do 6 of the 8 ascents Distance 80k’s, total ascent, 1480 meters. Challenging ride! Attached is the ride I did on Saturday morning. 6 summits.pdf
