Event Name: Ian Kernick Memorial Ride (200km) When: 1 December 2013 Where: Randburg Sports Complex, Gauteng Category: Road Ian Kernick Memorial Ride (200km) Presented by Cresta Wheelers 1st December 2013 (200km Audex qualifier) The event is a 200km ride starting from Randburg Sports Complex following a route via Lanseria, Cradle, Maropeng, Brits, Magaliesburg, Randfontein and back. It is not a race and is rum along Audax guidelines where participants are required to complete the course under their own auspices without external support at an average speed of 15 to 30km/h. Event Name: MOUNTAIN BIKING 101 When: 15 August 2013 Where: Sandton Convention Centre, Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng Category: MTB The Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA), in conjunction with PeptoSportR enhanced with PeptoProR ( www.atlife.co.za) and Bicycling Magazine, are hosting a highly informative workshop to provide you with loads of useful and practical tips to get you started or improve your mountain biking. The workshop will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg on Thursday 15 August 2013, with registration starting at 17h30. Speakers will include Kasha Dickie (Biokineticist and mountain biking coach), who will discuss key training guidelines and tips to improve your riding ability, Karlien Smit (registered dietitian) on nutritional guidelines regarding recovery and supplementation, as well as Nic White (top South African elite cyclist for almost 20 years), from Cycle Lab in Fourways, who will bring you up to speed on mountain biking gear and equipment. There will also be a lucky draw with excellent prizes from the SSISA, PeptoSportR, Bicycling Magazine and Cycle Lab.   9. Good day Hubbies, I'm looking to get some info on HAND CYCLEs, A friend of mine is interested in cycling but because of her disability she is unable to raid a normal bicycle. But I don't want to put her thru the expense of buying one if she is not going continue cycling plus there is a big verity of different hand cycles and trikes out there. We live in JHB near Randburg and she will be riding in and around the Cradle in Muldersdrift. Thanks Shaun
