  1. And the relevance of your reply is what?
  2. Any bike shop owners here - please pm me
  3. that gives me goosebumps...about to a buy black carbon nomad
  4. Couldn't find a hubber called "crow"?
  5. Seems you must be a mechanic? I have the option of going Float or Talas for a new Santa Cruz Nomad used for aggresive XC, all mountain, light freeride riding. Have heard people saying that the float is more plush but that made no sense as they seem to be so similar? I have to pedal up to get down so though the adj travel may help. More NB though is the overall ride of the fork. Like the black of the Talas to match the frame too ;-)
  6. Forgetting the travel adjustment feature of the Talas, how does the ride compare between the two forks? Cheers, S
  7. Scott and Santa Cruz are in different leagues. If you are looking for a all mountain bike where you will still need to pedal quite a bit and hit some agrresive trail riding then look to the butcher or scott or even better the santa cruz nomad. The bullit is more a freeride bike and not that pedal friendly, but will get you there. It is a workhorse and loved by many. If you need to climb, leave the bullit. If you want to huck, jump and go big - go for the bullit or try find a second hand vp-free. Have a serious look at the nomad too.
  8. Anyone riding a V10 here?
  9. Its a mix of singtrack, downhill, some climbs - a little bit of everything. Enough climbs to make it tough for a full dh bike to dominate. Getting quite popular overseas.
  10. Curious if there are any Super D Races in South Africa - CPT in particular. Cheers
  11. Which company is this? Do you have any details? Much easier dealing with private co's than govt.
  12. and a digger? seen some really small ones - would be great to shape the area below the big berm/end of dh.
  13. Sofware/Web Developer here. Let me know if you need a hand.
  14. Lag - sounds like you just confuse them (which isn't difficult to do)
  15. In - will even cover some drinks. Vote on where to start? Can you get a vehicle onto the mountain?
  16. Funny thing is that I would be prepared to pay a bigger entrance fee for better trails.
  17. Of course, in theory we should all help out. I ride it all, the dh, the freeride area with the ladder, the single track etc so keen to help out. Regarding the signage - majority of organized areas in the world have signage - ESPECIALLY if they charge for entry! Normally shows the route name, distance, is it a loop or not, location within the area and skill level i.e. black diamond, green etc. If we organize a 1 or 2 Sundays every month to meet and work on the area - it could be a fantastic resource. Would we be able to take a vehicle in - that is key as the trails are pretty high up and carrying gear is a mission. Would you be able to secure permission?
  18. Sure there are diverse groups with different interests so perhaps there should be a board or something similar made up of responsible individuals representing each group i.e. xc, downhill, freeriders etc. That way guys can be responsible for their lines. No use having 10 xc racers who prefer riding the fireroads managing the dh runs and likewise the dh guys may not be interested in some of the singletrack.
  19. if the bike is already boxed and packaged do they open it all up?
  20. Thanks for the reply. So what is your position in all of this?
  21. Pain? Shine?
  22. Funny, I have never declared when leaving and travel overseas normally twice a year. Some people swear by it and some people swear not to. I just never really thought about it. Guess its different if you were coming back with 2 boxed xbox 360's in your bag!
  23. In about 2005/2006 I tried to get involved after doing a trip to Whistler. I felt it could be a fantastic opportunity to build some great marked trails. Turned out to be such a bureaucratic nightmare with several people arguing over the direction and not much happening. Tokai is a treasure of great riding and would be great to help shape it.
  24. Yeah was curious of Meurant still does it. Seems Tokai is a sensitive one. Very keen to get involved in some responsible building/maintenance. Going to speak to Meurant today.
