Thanks Leon, definately thinking of the 36T chain ring and glad to hear to have done it with a similiar setup in our timeframe.

Morning hubbers, My TB partner has gone to the darkside and has decided to attempt the TransBaviaans next year on his gravel bike. As he will be a little speedier than me on the flats (and potentially the climbs), any advise or bike setup changes that I can start working on now? We have been completing the race in about 14/15 hours on average over the last few years. I currently have an Orbea OIZ M10 Carbon currently with a 10-51t 12 speed Shimano M8100 casette at the rear and a CSIXX 34t chain ring at the front. I am also planning on upgrading my handlebar to something like the Alloy Aero MTB Bar from RideFarr so I can get in a slighlty better and more aero position when I can. I dont have Kate Courtney's skills to go aero on my fork! Training wise I am doing about 4 hours on average on the trainer, a 2-3 hour ride on the weekends when work allows and then also a bit of gym work in between. This is mainly running and swimming with mobility work once a week. I am working on increasing my cadence, I usually prefer a slower cadence.

Does anyone have recommendations for a long ride in Kroonstad, 80/100km? Ideally some gravel/dirt roads would be preferred, but will do road as well if nothing else is available. This is for a training ride, and any routes or ideas would be much appreciated.

Hey guys/gals, I am looking for a partner for the TransBaviaans The Repeat 2023 as unfortunately my partner from last year wont be joining me this year. I already have the entry paid for and some of the accommodation booked. I rode 17h28 last year and would like to aim for similiar or a sub 17 this year. I stay in Honeydew so I would prefer if it would be someone close by, but willing to travel a bit to do long rides or meet up somewhere in the middle. Happy to share any additional info about me, my cycling V02 Max is 53, Running V02 Max is 48 and my W/kg is 2.73.

Any recommendations for someone that have the thread kit to install the OneUp EDC V2 tool kit in Centurion? The person I was recommended to do this with in Centurion is not working out. Thanks
