<p>The climb in the final third of the race (the one for which we had to conserve some strength) really took the fun out of the fun ride for me. Most of the people who were pushing their bikes with me complained that the ascent was too steep for the typical fun rider. I couldn't finish (due to too much sun, severe exhaustion and the fact that my water, etc. had run out) (and my fitness probably also played a role), but I felt that the route was too challenging and that the race organisers may have to re-contemplate whether to include that hill in next year's race.</p> <p> </p> <p>For the rest of it, I felt that the race was brilliant, and the organisation done very well.</p> <p> </p> <p><em>Note: I am not usually a whinger, but felt that I had to tell it as I experienced it, together with the comments I heard along the way.</em></p>
