1. Hi all, wanted to just share a heads up for cyclists on the spruit near alberts farm. A colleague was held up at gunpoint this morning. Garmin watch was taken, fortunately nothing else. I believe it was between 6 and 7, this is the location: https://www.google.com/maps/place/26%C2%B008'51.7%22S+28%C2%B000'00.5%22E/@-26.1476944,27.9995917,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d-26.1476888!4d28.000147 was assisted by other cyclists shortly after the incident.
2. quick question, there was also a draw for 5 x USN shopping vouchers, did that happen?
3. well done both, have a blast there.
4. Not in the conditions, have emailed the contact address to find out, will post a reply here.
5. Damnit!! I just read this in the Ts & Cs You are allowed to enter for both prizes of the competition and you may enter more than once given you follow the correct process to do so. So if I had 2 strava account and completed each of the challenges twice during each fortnight, I could have had additional entries, if I'm interpreting that correctly.....
6. I think it becomes 50% after the first draw even.
7. Explain more... Would 2 chances of 0.4 not give you twice 0.8, i.e twice as likely as 1 x 0.4% chance? If there's 2 people entered in the draw the its 2/2 = 100%. With 4 ppl, it would be 50%? or would it be 1 in 4 (25%) and then 1 in 3 (33%) so then added odds are 58%? This is bugging me more than it should. Probably should have paid more attention during stats lectures. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
8. 0.83% change of weeening wena.
9. Looks like some okes had a busy weekend. 94 entrants have completed the challenge to date. me - 2 more hours this afternoon and I'm through. I'll be kind enough to let 5 other okes finish first and then take the "100th challenge completer" and be endowed with massive amounts of good luck, thus winning the entry. See you at the Epic.
10. 275 people make it through to challenge 4.
11.
Current standings: 258 through, 86 people still in contention. 13.5h remaining.

12. double 947 would have been easier. Over achiever [emoji12] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
13. 252 people have completed all 3 challenges so far. 344 have completed 1 & 2 - 92 still in contention until tomorrow night.
14. Yeah would be good if leaderboard could be filtered by "still in". Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
15. Double Cycle Challenge yesterday. Was aiming for a sub-3 and managed to get it, even though I lost the rest of the Apocalypse Cows and pushed 83km solo besides a few minutes here and there in a group. Lap 2, pulled an ice cream from Douglasdale with 1 of the other ACs. Long day out. 10h. Shout out to all the other cows, such amazing people. 2642m ascent, USN challenge #3 completed.
16. I hear there's a mountain out your side of the world.... How's challenge 2 looking, keeping an eye open for that update to the leaderboard, wondering how many people are going to drop off after tomorrow. My challenge #3 plan is locked and loaded, gonna be ... interesting.
17. Near Blue Hills, through the veld.... ?
18. Or this one.... Cullinan 2 Tonteldoos (Dullstroom).
19. 150km to go in a day and a half. For roadies, Rule #5. For MTBers, still rule 5 - http://notsoseriouscyclist.blogspot.co.za/2011/01/rules-for-mountain-bikers.html So the 3rd challenge sounds the toughest. Been trying to figure out where / what (Gauteng). Here's what I have so far: Breedts Nek from Hekpoort: 500m over 25km. 250m of that climbing is in the last 5km from the last t junction. going up from the old shebeen side is another 350m. so over the top to the shack and back 4 times. 80km meets the min. Northcliff Hill - Beyers to Water Tower - 130m over 2km. 20 repeats. 80km. Suikerbos - I haven't ridden there but looks like with 120km of riding could hit 2500m doing the southern loop and then a few loops of the northern section if that's possible. WTF hill in Pta - 100m over 1.5km. 25 repeats. 75km distance.what else is there? Can imagine the numbers are going to drop on in November at the end of this! 187 completed Challenge 1 so far with a few more to come by tomorrow.
20. Only last year? Shame, sorry to the missus. Gonna head through with the missus kids and give it a go, catch you there
21. Yeah, I went for a 30km ride at VG and went through 1 x tubeless and 4 x tubes. Getting a bit of a reputation as "that guy that gets punctures (and lost) often."
