  1. Ay Bikehub! My girlfriend and I are going to be doing a night ride this Wednesday. We did one a year ago with a baby R49 Ryder LED light and we couldn't see a thing. Looking for suggestions on a decent light/lamp that wont break the bank since we only do like 1-2 nightrides a year. preferably less than R500
  2. Awesome! i've done all of the above. thank you so much for the info! I've done one of Dustin's events they are awesome and i forgot his name. I've followed and added his groups on Facebook. Thanks again
  3. Hey Bikehub, Does anyone have a calendar of the Downhill events that are open to the public in 2024 in and around Gauteng?
  4. this was part of my concerns, and i feel like that might be difficult to fix and even harder to see if i am buying 2nd hand.
  5. thanks everyone, I definitely feel more confident looking at a couple carbon options!
  6. Wow! i really didnt expect the carbon to hold up so so much more than the Alu. thank you for sharing this.
  7. Ay BikeHub, Im on the lookout for a bike upgrade, full suspension, enduro kind of vibe. I dig jumping, bunnyhopping anything on the trail and i weigh around 87kgs. I see a ton of Carbon bikes on here and I'm super nervous to buy them as I have seen a lot of broken headsets and cracked rear triangle stories. What have your experiences been and do you think its a safe idea to buy an older carbon bike. just to give you some more insight, my budget is roughly R25k-R30k so it would be a fairly old one.
  8. Hey Bikehub, Yesterday I was at TVS cycles as my old 9 speed shifter decided to give up the ghost. The team there really made a massive effort to sort my bike out. I actually left with a pretty awesome upgrade and still had some money left in the bank. I rode my bike yesterday with my brand new (2nd hand) drivetrain and it was a joy to ride. After owning this bike since 2007 it was amazing to have some new life back into the old girl. 10/10 would recommend and suggest to folks looking for spare parts, upgrades or service.
  9. This makes sense! Thank you. Will give it a shot cause it seems like such a waste to have to throw these shoes out.
  10. Evening Bikehub! i have multiple pairs of cleated shoes that the hard bottom that has separated from the shoe. can you please suggest a place in Jozi or PTA that can glue/nail/staple whatever to get my shoes back into shape? thank you!
  11. Firstly i want to thank the Bikehub users who suggested I use Cogent Industries to service my Fox F100R fork. Their service was amazing and even though my fork is on the older side they really went the extra mile to make sure my fork continues to live a good life. Not only was their customer service amazing but their attention to detail and extra effort was killer. They went as far as adding a cable guide (which i never had even when i bought the bike) and suppling SKF low friction seals. Thank you to Cogent and Jacques
  12. Thank you so much guys, will give them a call later ????
  13. Hi bikers! im new here so please forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I have a fairly old fork that needs some love, who is a Fox fork wizard in JHB or PTA thank you
