Still no matter what we say I agree with Oom H & yes I'd like to hear the "other side of the story" having had altercations with motorists myself..be that as it may these guys have further blackened our sport & we all are seen as arrogant violent types...even if some of us actually give way to motorists or obey all rules...Phil said it last night on S/C...whatch out for motorists & take care...he also said obey the rules of the road..."DT"
am waiting for the site entires to open at twelve....going for 10 in a row and will then take a break! this will be my ninth.
this topic really gets me fired up......I hate it when people litter, and I think it is simply that people consider that in light of the fact that there is so much litter around, what difference will their wrapper make!!! Complaincency is rife, and it is worse with the road cycling in general. Rides like 94.7 and Argus where you have thousands of volunteers cleaning up after us has spoilt us, then when people partake in smaller races, they take it for granted that someone else will clean it up.
No worries.
I just signed up yesterday, and there was no mention on the site of cancellation or detour.
scares the S%$t out of me! A guy I knew a gym when I was at varsity took injectables, grew huge rapidly in comparison to the rest of us, and I must admit I was envious of his progress........he had a liver transplant 4 years ago and now weighs 65kg's and cant bench press more than a paper bag.
If athletes want to use this stuff, they must have the right info for safety reasons to avoid the above happening, and there are those out there with the right information. I have no problem with people wanting to improve their performance in this way and if they are willling to pay for the service it is their business.
However I do take ombridge to the claims that they are better athletes than those who are clean, they are merely better druggies.
Maybe we should split the sports like bodybuilding did a decade or so ago. I think there was a Mr Natural Universe and Mr Universe running parralel!!!! Every competitor in the first had to undergo testing randomly throughout the months leading up to the contest.
Clean cyclist sponsoredby reputable companies, and pill poppers sponsored by drug dealers....two effective forms of marketing.
I do not even come close to competing at that level, so my concerns are not for who is getting the better of me, but what is the point in supporting a sport or aspiring to race when you know the guy who will win is the guy who can afford better drugs and clever masking agents. I know these guys are under pressure, but how many of those U10 cyclists aspiring to be Robbie Hunter, will look at Floyd and say, nah, lets play TV games instead!!!!!!
Just my 2 cents worth
hey guys, i bought my wife a raliegh, 3000, and for the price, it is superb value for money! My lbs reckon they could do the TEAM issue for the 25K mark, and that is phenominal value. The frame is dedaccai, same manufacturer as othe top brands, full shimano specc same as other top brands, awesome wheelset, better than many other top brands...seems to me the only difference between this lot and the bikes costing 10- 20K more are the decals, which I must admit lok a bit "busy" on the team, but that 7000C is awesome looking.
Been riding trek for 10 years, both off road and on, Jst moved to Giant Anthem and am seriously looking at a spanking new 7000C from Santa
To use the car analogy mentioned earlier, lets remember, although raleigh make the M-Trax, and other such bikes, available from Game et al, VW made the beetle and the Buggatti Varon, arguable the most technologically advanced supercar ever made

Sella Italia SLR XC Kevlar....the best saddle i have ever used, have one on my road and mtb bikes, ridden it for 8 months now and can't complain. I am one of those slightly slower riders who spends more tim ein the saddle so I need extra comfort and these are beauts.
Cheaper on line than in most local shops, just ordered one for my new mtb.
. Easy way to loose a 1kg fast is to change the tires' date=' the front tire weighs in at 880g and the back is 710g. swap those for Larsens TT(450g each) with Stans Conversion(230g) and you'll save yourself more than a kilo since the tubs weigh 200g each.
[/quote']
I did this on my fuel 90 and shaved off just under 1 kg from larsen TT beaded to LArsen TT foldables with Stans.....so you will save over 1 kg if going from heavier tyres initially... love tubeless conversion, no puncture in 6 months and I ride in the eastern cape....... thornlands!!!
Thanks guys, I am taking it all in. Love this part, hate not having a bike yet though.
Hi there
I recently unwillingly donated my trek fuel 90 with full xt and dtswiss disc rims and hydraulic hayes set up to the local development cycling fraternity, hopefully soon to be aprehended and convicted, never to enjoy the benefits of owning my pride and joy, but I digress.......i need a new bike! mine was stolen! pretty much sums it up.
I am looking for a lightweight, full sus, (soft tail) mtb to play around on in the awesome single track around me as well as to carry my 90kg body 100km in any direction from the crater cruise to the karoo to coast and hopefully the 2008 cape epic!
I am hooked on full sus and love hydraulic discs, and have insurance money to spend........
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have had them on my mtb now for a month or so and just completed the sabie experience with them.
I would not say they made me madly faster or more agile up the hills, but I did feel more efficient on the undulating terrain and my knee pain was almost non existant post ride.....which is why I bought them.
