Thanks guys.....yes there are still steel frames in europe or usa like Torelli, but I wanted to know in SA first b4 I look elsewhere.

What is the cheapest complete steel road bike available in SA at present?

I have been out of SA for about 10 years and still find it 'funny' how people there have begun to accept non-violent crime..... as long as you weren't killed, injured etc you should be happy!!! There is theft in many places ... Here in Los Angeles bikes get stolen too!!! Perhaps the authorities, if they can take a break from stealing themselves, should stop cyclists periodically and insist on bikes and/or cyclists being registered in some way???

I was back in SA visiting my mom last year when my bike was stolen out her garage in Cape Town. The bike was very sentimental to me as I rode many Argus Tours with it when I was younger. It is blue with yellow handle bar tape. I have pics. I discovered this site recently so decided to take a long shot and let readers know to look out for it. I may even offer a reward for finding it. Only when people come together to fight these thieves will crime be lowered. Thanks
