we have received a lot of calls finding out if the organisers for the Prestige Olympic/Sprint Event this weekend are the same as the organisers of the Midmar ultra held last weekend, I would like to put your minds at ease that the organisers are NOT the same and would like to assure you all that the quality of the race this weekend will be on par with the quality of all our other races. Due to the major shortage of triathlon events around the JHB area we have taken it upon ourselves to create the opportunity for all the multisport folks out there to come and experience some quality races, so if you are just starting out or are seasoned triathletes please come and enjoy the day with us. one last thought i would like to leave you with is that sponsors of events have nothing to do with the organisation of races so they should not be given the blame in the event of things going wrong during a race, if it wasnt for the kind sponsors putting up the money for these events it would not be possible to host half the races we have on our calender

To set everybody’s minds at ease, the Prestige Ultra and Olympic triathlons will be taking place regardless of the weather. We would love to have perfect racing conditions but this isn’t always possible, We can however assure you that we will make sure that this will be a race to remember.

I would just like to thank all the cyclists that opened their hearts again by showing support for the recent Meals on wheels race. A couple of the podium finishers donated their winnings back to Meals on wheels and many people not only paid for the race but also brought along tinned food, this just shows that the cycling community has big hearts and doesn’t shy away from giving back to their community. Thank you all for making it a very successful day all round!
