  1. Thanks all for the input.
  2. I don’t think this model does https://thulestore.co.za/thule-xpress-2-bike-carrier-970003
  3. Hello I have been using my Thule 2 bike two bar rack for some time now and have always wondered if it is legal, because it partially obstructs by rear number plate. I've never been stopped in Cape Town, but since relocating to Gauteng I’m concerned that I may be stopped. Even if I add an additional unobstructed rear plate, I wouldn’t know where to place it. Any advice? Tks
  4. Nice, and these have 10 pins 👍
  5. Thanks peeps, based on feedback I think I'll go Nukeproof.
  6. These have great reviewes and they're currently less 58% but metal damage is unforgiving 🤔
  7. Very informative thanks
  8. Top draw stuff 👌
  9. Awesome they sound good, please can you post a link to it?
  10. Hi All, i have a pair of Giant flat resin pedals but am looking for a larger set with more grip /pins. Please could you recommend a good set of pedals? The ones I’ve been considering are: https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/crank-brothers-stamp-1-pedals Rockbros - Extra Width Mountain Bike Pedals - Green available to buy online at @TAKEALOT We offer fast, reliable delivery to your door. https://www.takealot.com/rockbros-extra-width-mountain-bike-pedals/PLID91266644
  11. Assembly done. I’m happy with the look the hard black anodised frame.
  12. Thanks for the guidance. I arrived there just after 8am this morning and the bike was done. I haven’t completely unwrapped it but from the bits I’ve unwrapped and rewrapped I think it came out well. Joey’s guy, Clement, might have done some preparation before anodising. Keeping it wrapped as I’m taking it away tomorrow to have new frame pivot bearings fitted and reassembled. Posting pics on Friday once it’s complete.
  13. 😳 I imagined that the finish would be the same as the sample of the final product which they had shown me. Which looked great, I was there twice and there was no mention of this, Is the hard black anodising more forgiving or do you recon I should pick it up and give it a consistent finish?
  14. Thanks for responsing. I've read a few threads on the forum which indicate that steel rivnuts can mess up the anodising, although I don't really know how but my worry is that the colour of the AL frame will be affected. Update: Ended up going to their workshop today, decided to go for the recommended 'hard anodised black' instead. I think in terms of long term durability it's the better option.
  15. This inspired me to do the same. I stripped my specialized camber fsr frame and dropped it off at Cape Anodising today, although they appear to be very disorganised, I'm hoping for the same result. I asked for the main frame to be purple, as in your pics, and for the suspension arms and smaller parts to be blue. I'll post pics once done, but wanted to ask if you removed your bottle cage rivnuts before sending it away?
  16. Sorted! thanks! The hole is practically microscopic.
  17. Hi All I’m battling to connect my giant dropper lever and am butchering my cable. I can’t find any videos online of how to connect this lever. Can someone please guide me or share an online resource that I’m unable to find? TIA
  18. Thank you 👍
  19. Looks like Lyne is the clear favourite 🙂
  20. Great looking bike, can the bike accomodate a 170mm dropper?
  21. Hello 👋 I’ve recently purchased a used 2015 Specialized Camber 29 and am keen to install a 150mm dropper post which must have External cable routing as the older frame doesn’t accommodate internal routing. The seat post diameter is 30.9mm and the insertion length is around 300mm. The current seat post doesn’t appear to be the original so I don’t have the total length. I’d like a reasonably priced 150mm or 125mm dropper. Are there any suggestions for droppers and links to them that will work on this bike? Thanks in advance.
  22. Hi All, I'm new to cycling, mountain biking in particular, I've purchased a second hand hardtail XL Silverback Spectra Comp 29" (2018) with rockshox My height is approx. 184cm, I didn't know at the time that the frame was a XL, the guy put the incorrect size on the ad and I didn't check, big mistake. The frame is too big, I've tried to shorten it by replacing the 100mm stem with a 45mm stem (I didn't want to go to 32mm) but I feel that it needs to be smaller as I don't feel like I have the control that I need. I also know that I cannot adjust the seat too much as I need to have the correct leg position. Is there anything else I could do, I'd hate to sell as it rides very well and I've already spent quite a bit on servicing, new tubeless tires 2.25 front and back, front and back pads and a replacement rear caliper but if I can't make it work I'll need to sell.
