  1. I think the 3rd option is the one I'll be trying for now. There is a great little Frog44 on the for sale forum, but it has pink and purple spot, which is apparently A VERY BIG PROBLEM when you are 4. The i have my eye on a little Norco Samurai ACE Cycles recommended. I really cannot understand the weight of these bikes. It's insane! Apparently it's for durability, but jeez, how much damage can a 4 year old cruising around the neighbourhood do?
  2. Thank you all once agin for all the great advice. I love the look of the Early Riders, and this will for sure be an option for when he is a little bit older. I'm going to keep looking for the lightest second hand bike I can find (no gadgets, just an honest little bike for him to feel comfortable on), while keeping his current Muna there as an option for him to use when and how he wants. And if he feels the need to stay on his push bike a little longer, so be it. Rather that than putting him off cycling forever by pushing to hard!
  3. I'd LOVE to get him a Frog 44, and there is one on the for sale forum, but as it has committed the cardinal sin of having pink and purple spots on it, it is, apparently, only fit for girls! There is a Momsen JR 16, but it's only a couple of 100 grams lighter than his current tank, so don't think it'll fit the purpose. Honestly, I at this age I can't care less about gadgets, or branding, the main thing is weight (and apparently no pink and purple). And I agree, kids bikes seem to be almost indestructible, with the payoff being the insane weight! What are they expecting these 4 year olds to do with these bikes?
  4. I can get one for a really great price. Would you recommend it? I'm really not worried about it being fancy or anything, I only need it to be lighter than the tank he has now. His balance is great but when he stops the weight is just too much and this scares him. Also, he can't even get this thing to move up even a slight incline. If it's not flat or downhill he really struggles and as we live in a hilly neighbourhood this is a problem!
  5. Hi everyone I need some advice on a 16” lightweight bike for my son. He currently has a 12” Muna push bike (which he loves) and a 14” Muna pedal bike (which he hates). He find the Muna pedal bike WAY to heavy to handle, he can’t pick it up, when he stops the bike is to heavy and topples over. I mean he only weighs 16kg and the bike is almost 11kgs! This is like a grownup of 65kg lugging around a 50kg+ bike! Any advice on something that might be a bit lighter? Obviously a Frog would be the ideal, but as they are so scare any others names would be appreciated. Anyone know the weight of the Titans and maybe the Norcos? I’v had a look at the Marvel bikes, they seem nice but still quite heavy.
  6. Any idea where I can get off road/gripier tyres for a Frog 43?

  8. Hi all I’m looking for some advice and recommendations about a good first peddle bike for my 3.5 year old. He’s been tootling around on his 12” balance bike from about the age of two and really has it down pat. He’s done a 5km and 8km trail ride as well as a few mini pumps and mini flows and adores it. We were thinking of possibly getting him a second hand 16” of better quality to see how he likes it before forming out on a new one or possibly bigger one. The one’s we’re looking at are: A Frog (the red one) Titan Hades (no pick) Specialized Hotrock (Light blue) I personally really like the Spec, but my husband doesn’t as it’s for a girl. Would that really be such a big deal? Anyhow any advice or pointers would be very much appreciated.
