  3. Seems like a scam, BEWARE! The online shopping scam involving Noreply@notice.zhcartapps.com operates in the following manner: Fake shopping websites are quickly set up featuring the email address Noreply@notice.zhcartapps.com as the only contact detail. These sites use generic templates and stock content. Ads on social media like Facebook and Instagram heavily promote the scam shopping sites. The ads showcase expensive products like electric scooters and graphic tees at unbelievably low prices starting from $10. When people click on the ads, they are directed to the scam sites with content and images likely stolen from legitimate businesses. The scam websites also create a false sense of urgency with claims like “Limited Time Sale!” and “Free Shipping”. After customers place orders, either the products never arrive or customers receive low-quality items very different from the advertisements. Customers who try to contact the company receive no response since Noreply@notice.zhcartapps.com is fake. Within days, the scam sites disappear after defrauding many customers. The scam repeats with new domain names and ads.
  4. Saw a specialized last chance sale on facebook this morning with ridiculous clearance prices, clicking the shop link opens up a "looks legit" online store but the prices are extremely low on some bikes/frames and wheels, scam or not?
  5. 😁 Looking forward to seeing if my knees feel a bit better on shorter cranks.
  6. Thanks Chris, will do
  7. Thanks, Ill keep that in mind.
  8. Hi, is it the rekon or rekon race thats 2.35?
  9. Hi does anyone have a 165mm dub boost crankset for sale? Nothing available on bikehub or SA retailers.
  10. Help needed. I trying to purchase 1 of 27.5mm x 2.25 Rekon race and 1 of 27.5mm x 2.4 Rekon Lbs and cyclelab seem to be out and supplier is out of stock. Any suggestions? TIA
  11. Thanks Droo, seems like the oneups are the closest compromise.
  12. Closest match would be egyptian teal
  13. After extensive online searches without finding what I need I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. My sons bike is mainly carbon black with a few accents of teal, he has expressed a desire for "teal" coloured grips and pedals. Any ideas where I can find such?
  14. Not to impressed with ordering from bike-addict unfortunately. First time bike-addict buyer, place an order and paid 10 days ago, on the 8th March. quote reply: "Please note that some items need to be ordered from our suppliers and will take 3-5 working days from receipt of Proof Of Payment to arrive to us. (proof of payment sent on the 8th march) Once items arrive we will the forward shipping details to you." On the 12th I send an email requesting any updates on the order. quote reply: "Hi We are still awaiting some items from our suppliers to completely fulfil your order" I am suprised as no indication as to when it will be received or delivered etc, the 3-5 days is almost over. Today 18th March I decide to follow up and ask for more clarity on my order and which items might be causing the delay etc Quote reply: "I am awaiting the ......... items which are set to arrive tomorrow morning" Well I am glad to hear my order should be arriving soon, but I didn`t expect this online order to take almost 2 weeks to receive. For a big online retailer I am a bit suprised by their lack of communication, maybe my order for R3880 was too small.
  15. Thanks Jewbacca, keep the stoke.
  16. Many thanks to everyone that took the time to respond. Completely agree that our kids should enjoy riding and have fun doing it (appreciate nature/riding together etc), however I would rather teach my kid proper riding techniques in the beginning as it will help make his riding more enjoyable with less falls etc and he will grow in confidence. The learning curve for a kid who doesn't know the correct techniques is longer and less enjoyable imo, and he/she will have to unlearn any incorrect techniques. Techniques/tips that I have taught my son so far: * Shoulders back and chest out (helps breathing) * Slightly bent elbows in attack position (gives better control of the handlebars) * Correct foot position on the pedals (ball on pedal enables better power and weight transfer) * Looking ahead and choosing the best line (gives more time to adjust and you go where you look) * Deep breaths and hydration (oxygen and electrolytes enable energy transfer) * Bike position, when to lean back or forward depending on gradient or obstacle, transferring of weight etc. * Pedal positioning in corners, looking through corners etc * Pace yourself (prevent over exertion and fatigue) Most kiddies bikes are quite heavy and rough to ride, since he got his specialized rhyme fs bike he is more excited and keen to ride Have I got this all wrong, should I rather not teach him correct riding techniques and just let him do his thing, when is the right time? All I am hearing is let your child be a kid??? I started surfing in my teenage years and some of my mates who started a whole lot earlier progressed sufficiently enough that when they where in there teens they already had coaches and represented at top level, and the awesome experience that comes with that... I wish I had that opportunity when I was young and to have had the early exposure and coaching, or maybe I am wrong?
  17. Hi Kuys, Sounds great, please send me more info.
  18. Thanks for your input Bichael, noted.
  19. Thanks Kuys, I will take some time and draw some scenarios for him to understand where the congestion is likely to happen when riders are bunching in the middle and rather taking the outside line going into the first corner. Cheers
  20. Thanks for your input Bichael, what would you equate to "layering on the pressure" to give everybody the info you are referring to?
  21. My son is now participating in Gauteng schools racing events, he is a bit on the shorter side within his age group and rides a specialized rhyme fs 27.5 bike. He currently rides about 30km per week, mainly trail riding. In his last race he tried to position himself as close to the front of the group behind the seeded riders, all seeded riders are positioned in the front and everyone one else is behind. At the start of the race a rider went down in front of him and he went down as well, so when he eventually got going he was back of the pack. In having no racing experience myself, what is the best advice one can share that could assist him in better positioning/avoiding potential crashes/passing riders who dont give way, training tips etc. He has been riding for about 3 years, we try to keep it fun but also encourage him to focus on the correct cycling techniques etc, so he learns correctly and avoids possible injury. Appreciate any advice that can be passed on TIA.
  22. Please dont waste your money buying new, bikes are probably the fastest depreciating purchase you will make. You can get a decent 2nd hand bike that has a decent frame/forks and boost through-axle wheelset, that you can then upgrade components or service them when you need. Enjoy the ride, and in time to come when the bug bites, you then have enough understanding to decide on what type of bike you would like to build based on the riding you enjoy, and whether you want to go fs or ht. I also recommend a professional to assist you in correctly setting up you and your bike, normaly costs anywhere from R850 and can be done at your lbs. This service includes correct seat height and position/ correct stem and handle bar length/ positioning brake and gear levers, incl setting up your compression and rebound of your forks according to your weight.
  23. Yes I agree, some of the L size frames feel too big, perhaps the geometry as well.
