1. Prehaps the pads have 'glazed' over? Roughen down with a light grade sandpaper and have a few hard stops and they may feel better.

i think some soap or something got in there...so today i was just riding in my yard and doing stoppies the whole afternoon and seems to be helping .. the power is starting to come back..

  2. Spud and I are riding MTB's from the Kragga Kamma Vets surgery to Ladies Slipper along the railway line on Saturday 20/12/2008 @ 05h30 anyone welcome to join us.

We can add in about another 20kays if we go out towards the Van Staadens bridge(Train not the N2) and come out at the Puttergills farm and head back through the Van Staadens Pass back to the Railway lines and then home should be about 100-110 kays.

u guys doing this again any time soon?

  3. Just because it's a MTB, does not mean it must not shine, I use the Motorex spray and get the same results. Washing and poloishing my bike after a ride is like therapy.

exactly..if you realy appreciate your bike you will take care of it...just coz its a plaas bakkie doesnt mean the boerkie doesnt wash it and love his bakkie.

    (not being racist)

  4. Well I apparently also ride like a moffie these days, and I have that helicopter tape on my downtube, but still get chips on the downtube (between my legs) and on the seat and chain stays stays.

The seat and chain stays seem to get hammered the most.

I also believe I look after my bike, but what do you do out on the rocky single track???? You gotta ride the thing.

i think its my weight that helps me..i ride a singletrack every weekend almost it has all kinds of terrain..(sandy loam, loost sand, dirt road, mud, and a rocky decent but u see i weigh 59 so i skip over the top..my tyres dont realy dig into the ground and shoot up stones..but on my downtube i got normal black installation tape and that seems to be working fine.. but i dont wash my bike with anything that could have a slight chance of scratching it..ie i first wash the dust off 2 times then made soapy water mix then gooi that on to loosten any other dirt...then wash very carefully with a soft sponge.(those yellow and green ones for the dishes but i only use the yellow side ) this might give you no help at all..:) but hey it works for me..

  5. Mr Min, the unscented one, works just as good, cheaper, dirt washes off easily and easy to apply. Dont get it on your rims braking surface or disks. Also do not get the Spring Country Garden or your bike will smell like a pansies bike. Get it of you are a pansy!!!!!!

nothing wrong with having a nice looking and nice smelling bike :P

  6. any btw if you have a black frame on your bike..put a strip of ducktape on the underneath side of your downtube there by your front wheel then you wnt get so much chips ... i dont ride like a moffie i just look after my bike even tho it costs less than a third of what most of you guys have..

  7. But why? it is an MTB no?

Where I ride I need stuff to take scratches and chips out. There always seems to be a shower of stones coming from my wheels and they seem attracted to my frame!!

I have never understood how ppl keep MTB's looking so new??? Let me know how it is done some time will you guys.

dude you cant take chips out with polish ur need something like rubbing compound to take chips and scratches out..thats the only way ja u can try that **** they show on tv but this stuff has been proven to work and doesnt false advertise .. i have used the product for over 2 years and i can vouch for it..

  8. jip it does it stops dust and dirt from sticking to the paintwork. the polish is not silicon based so it doenst attract dust ..thats how its different to all the other polishes..but its a polish but its not for taking out scratches just providing a protective layer that protects the paint..and stops dust collecting..in other words its sex.
