CSA have medal potential right here and now who are elite cyclists and are selected for the National Teams. They are expected to produce results at World Cups, Commonwealth games, Olympics etc with very little financial or any other input from CSA. In order to win a medal an elite cyclist needs to be fully employed by CSA in order to achieve that goal. Presently CSA has no structure to facilitate this due to the enormous cost involved in creating a medal hope. The cost to maintain an elite cyclist is far different to that of a junior. CSA only condones international competition by a cyclist if they fund the trips themselves.
Fellow Hubbers
Willie has always been a gentleman and has over many years proved to be a valuable asset to cycling. It was Willie who got me back on my bike many years ago, it was Willie who helped sponsor some of the best known cyclists today. It was Willie who personally financed bicycles for a number of cyclists who could not pay cash.
Gypsy has returned from a business trip and I have perused the many comments made by hubbers. It would seem that a number of you support underhanded tactics in cycling. My interest in this saga is that my company is looking to sponsor a junior ladies team. When we started asking questions about talented individuals we were informed about a number of irregularities that occurred at the Junior Tour. One of these was the Michelle saga. There were other issues brought to our attention as well and we are dealing with them.

Bob-I have no hidden agenda as i have been involved in cycling for a very long time and I just cant stand cheats. To many times the real talent that abides by the laws and principles of cycling loses to the cheats, whether that be through drugs, using outside assistance etc.
I hope someone at CSA reads these posts and does something about this scenario. CSA should take action and not wait for someone from the public to. CSA should have an enquiry and disqualify Michell Corbett as it seems that there was definitely some shenanigans happening.
I agree with you hubbers, Michelle should be disqualified.
I see Michelle Corbett won the ladies Junior Tour. I was looking at the photos online of the event and you can see that she is clearly being assisted by one of the Mr Price Boy's Juniors who are pushing her up the hill. According to my knowledge of cycling rules that is a definite no-no. She should in my opinion be disqualified as she did not win the race on her own steam. If you view the picture carefully you will see that Mr Price has been pushing already for a long time as you can see the strain in his forearm muscles. The cycling gurus let?s hear what you have to say.

Every organization has a code of ethics including the UCI whether it be written or unwritten. DNA tests are only being called for in order to avoid potential legal action taken against the pro teams,UCI etc by cyclists like Ullrich and Basso for misinformation. It seems the UCI and Pro teams will start to run for cover when this happens and that they will make DNA a scapegoat to cover their own butts.
I think the UCI code of ethics stink. This goes for sponsors to. They should adopt the principle of innocent until proven guilty. In Basso and Ullrich's case possibly the greatest Tour De France (2006) was messed up because of incompetent reporting etc. Cycling in general has suffered huge repercussions because of alleged incidents that now seem to have no backing.

It claimed it had access to the report issued by the investigating judge of court No.31 in Madrid, that said the German cyclist would have "no measures taken against him."
It went on to say this report would be forwarded to cycling's world governing body, the UCI.
The 32-year-old was suspended and then sacked by his T-Mobile team in July, after his name was linked to an anti-doping investigation by Spain's civil guard.
After raids on addresses in Madrid and Zaragoza in May, Spain police found large quantities of anabolic steroids, laboratory equipment used for blood transfusions and more than 100 bags of frozen blood.
From the raids, the civil guard compiled a list of moe than 50 professional cyclists who were implicated in the probe.
Ullrich, who won the 1997 Tour, has said he is innocent of any doping allegations made against him.
I was reading with interest the new Ride Magazine and notice that OUTSURANCE is up to its usual tricks. They have added a new clause which says "accidental damage while using items for sporting activity" is excluded from any claim even if you have all risks insurance on your bike. According to the writeup in Ride Magazine this includes whilst you are training.
OUTSURANCE has always been a scam, they have made there money on the misfortunes of others. They have never been serious about insurance as i know of many people who have had genuine claims and due to stupid technicalities, such as above, have never been paid out.
They need to be exposed for what they are. If you have your bike insured with them i suggest change to another company.

I was fortunate enough to have grown up with Alan. I will always remember him for the good times at City Deep. Alan gave me so much, he taught me to love cycling, more importantly he taught me to love life. His legacy will remain in my heart forever.
