  1. Trek has odd sized bearings on the BB. I have the 2022 fuel EX 8 ( purchased second hand so I have no warranty to fall back on). BMG and Bearing International dont stock that size. I had to purchase the bearings from a Trek agent. That particular size is 3803-2RS-W. They stock a 17 x 26 x 5 not the 17 x 26 x 10 that is required. I was not keen to double 2 bearings up to make up for the 10mm. Its one of those cases where you have to close your eyes and fork out the cash. Its depressing not having your bike at home to ride. Who said owning a dual suspension bike was cheap to maintain.
  2. There is an old thread from 2016 regarding this topic but fresh input would be highly appreciated. Is there any real difference replacing BB bearings on a bike using the original manufacturers bearings which are much more expensive than BMG bearings . I am not referring to cheap chinese bearings but a good quality bearing such as INA or NSK to name a few Is this just marketing or is there any real benefit using the original bearing brand vs BMG bearings in terms of longevity if correct maint procedures are followed
