  1. Thanks, that would explain why the raleigh(51 cm) felt exactly the same as the Principia(54 cm).
  2. I'm currently a mtb rider and have decided to give the road races/rides a go as every one else that I cycle with seems to have done I've decided to go the second hand route to ease myself into it and have come across 2 bikes that are available in my area, the very popular RC6000 and a relatively unknown (to me that is) Principia Evolution, both for the same price and both with 105 groupset. Can anyone help with a little bit of advice as to which bike would be the better valued bike and best suited to a newbie like me.
  3. I'm also in two minds whether or not the time is right to go for an entry level 29er, any thoughts?
  4. About eight months ago I bought my first mtb, a Scott Aspect 30, beautiful entry level hardtail. I've done a few social rides and the bike has really impressed. Now my wife decided she also wanted to ride along on a few simple rides but did not want me to break bank on a bike for her so she was happy to get a raleigh y-frame from house & homes.... BIG mistake, those THINGS give mountain bikes a bad name. So I have decided to give her my impressive aspect 30 and get myself an upgraded ride. I've got my eye on the Scott scale 70 2010 model. Anybody know the bike or have one, what's your opinion on the bike?
  5. Hi Johnny I'm pretty new to MTB'ing but I was pretty much in the same predicament you are in right now. I too was considering either the Giant or the Scott. To me the Scott was better specd for the price and I have had my Aspect 30 for just over a month now. I'm really happy with my choice, its a terrific bike.
  6. Thanks All for the welcome and the suggestions, I can tell I'm really gonna enjoy been part of this forum. CAP u crack me up, remind me to lock my "steed" away when ur around. Matty I will definateley shout when I'm in the PE area again. Right now though I have to seriously work on my fitness level. First time out on my bike was soooooo much fun but when I rather reluctantly climbed off I didn't feel to good.
  7. Hi All I'm a newbie and really excited about becoming A mountain biker. Because I'm new to the sport I was a little cautious about bying a bike and after some shopping around and a lot of questioning and of course reading a lot questions posted on the hub forums, I settled for a SCOTT aspect 30. For me this was good value for money and to my limited knowledge has decent spec for a first bike. Is anyone familiar with this bike and was it a good buy. Is there anything I should watch out for, any known weaknesses.
