  1. My home made effort ........ borrowed ideas from Youtube and the Hub: Double thick plywood base plus castors (2 with brakes) was left by landlord ......I can swivel stand easily. Other materials: 40mm galvanised flange - 25mm galv pipe (I tried 20mm initially- too much flex). 1 x t- piece (in case I want to lower bike to work on headtube) - elbow, 25/15 reducer, 15mm pipe (easier to find clamps). I x 32/15mm plastic irrigation clamp, reversed bolts and replaced nuts with wing nuts and flat washers. ~ Clamp is work in progress ........ I have seen pics of a hinged version of this which would be ideal. This one is a little hard to operate on your own 1x40mm galv flange ...... fork me these are like rocking horse poo............why 40mm when the pipe is 25mm you ask? This was smallest in stock (hence 40/25mm reducing bush) and I only found it at the last place I went to ....... if you live in Helderberg I will tell you where ...............for a small fee Finished product in action ....... as visible the clamp twists on the thread when using the seatpost.........I will be drilling horizontal and vertical location holes through clamp thread and 15mm pipe inside to insert locking pins for whichever desired position I am using the clamp Cost of materials to date (excl plywood base plus castors which was already provided) approx. R325
  2. This works well but I need more hooks for 2nd bike (I'm renting the place)...............anyone know anything?

  4. Given that I ride a Schwinn Mesa, would it not be true to say the Silverback Rox shock will feel like a LazyBoy (compared to Schwinn)? Cannot ride bikes to compare -
  5. Silverback is R2k less - and comes standard with tubeless.
  6. Looking at getting either FS 29er: http://www.khsbicycles.com/02_flagstaff_11.htm for R16k or http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011_website_SILVERBACK/mercurycomp.htm for R14k Both are new 2011 models. Any input on which is best? (and why?)
  7. SHot Rolland OK, so the 27.5" is the best..................what do the HUbbers say? Anyone on the forum have one? What is like getting parts esp. tyres?
  8. BumP
  9. As the thread title says..............looking at getting the Flagstaff 29er. What are the opinions of "people with experience"? And a good price to pay (new)? TIA
  10. Have just installed a new LH SRAM X4 shifter on my bike - checked a couple of Youtube vids to see how to adjust. The first up shift I do the indicator cover flies off and shifter splits half open !!!!!!!!!!!! Looking at tthe casing it seems the only thing holding the indicator side of the casing together is ....well....nothing. Is this a crap design or a crap install ? HELP !!

  12. @gtr1 - agreed. Got to have been an error in equipment selection FUBAR
  13. surely their choice how much $$ they throw in?? Nobody external dictated their budget. ENough of an advantage that top guys can have purpose built bikes for the event IMHO
  14. +100000 - although it is already a money game, at least it should be down to the 2 man team ONLY when out on the trail
