  1. For starters the group rode wide abreast in traffic, that in itself should see the lot noted. Clubs that engage in such behaviour in traffic should receive sanctions in any event. It's far too common and little is done about it. From what happened behind the vehicle it would appear as if mc2 is only giving up the perps that are likely identifyable by video in any ways. This does not garner back much goodwill. Condonation of violence was also evident on their facebook account before they removed those sections and closed down the page. There is more depth on both sides of this story, but let's await the outcome of the disciplinary and criminal investigations. In short I'm glad that most times I see asphalt, I have a metal box around me.
  2. Scapegoats being sent to slaughter out of 20-30 riders, however in the video it's clear to see there were more than two actively involved, especially given the shenanigans that played out on the other side of the vehicle. Also the others clearly didn't intervene. This does not meet the request, should be sanctioned appropriately and displays the disdain mc2 have for the process.
  3. You are generalizing and are lowering the floor of the discussion further following such a line. My experience would list a pecking order that would choose Double Cab drivers, Taxis, SUVs before C/D Segment hatch drivers with bonus points for drivers who have only recently received their drivers licenses (especially if in later adulthood) The issue here is that someone would endager someone's life on our roads unnecessarily and that people don't respect fellow road users (whether they be cyclists, motorcyclists, cars or pedestrians)
  4. Seems like this forum has its fair share of stirrers...and tiete highjackers. Funny, just what one needs when stuck at work still.
  5. Look, I'm not a cyclist (and my pie to dump ratio needs some work too) and don't know what is accepted practice in road-manners in SA, but the guy had an open lane to himself and quite obviously pushed them. I think the cyclists were bunched up at the robot and spread out to probably 2 abreast on pulling away perhaps 25m from the lights going green, but they kept to the side of the road and were not in any way impeding this guy from passing. I have driven on German roads and in the UK, so my perspective might be skewed, but SA drivers have no respect for other road users and seeing this got my blood boiling.
  6. They stopped at the red light for your information. I sent the plate pic and a ref to this thread to the one guy whose number I took.
  7. The brooklyn police didn't want to take a statement from me becasue I was not involved and just a witness.
  8. Sunday morning just before 9am I saw a driver approach a couple of cyclists on Lynnwood (intersection with the N1 just on the bridge going west) and brake off unnecessarily late and ignoring an open lane to his right. This guy then proceeded to drive next to cyclysts and drove ever closer to the curb as to push them off the road (there is a small curb there). This deliberate harassment of the cyclysts was completely unprovoked and I got ready to chase this c#*& down in his Polo to get his plates. The cyclists waved to the guy to pull over and surprizingly he did. I got out and took these three pics of the guy who continued harassing the cyclists seemingly self-vindicated in the abuse he had just dished out. People like this have no place on our roads.
