Event Name: THE GALLOWSWhen: 09/05/2026Where: Lord's Wines, McGregor, Western CapeCategory: GravelThe Gallows! A 107km gravel thrash through the Langeberg region of the Western Cape. The course is a fast and scenic rollercoaster that covers a variety of terrain before spitting you out at the base of the mighty Galgeberg mountain. Galgeberg is an absolute monster of a climb. A 10km ramp that gets harder and steeper the further you crawl your way to the top. Gravel Thrash, Mountain Finish! Go to Event Page.

The route this year is a mix of 2023 and 2024's routes. We've added the Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve section back in and chopped off the long tar bit after the reserve. All the farms sections are still in. Yup, unfortunately/fortunately that section of road is still washed away, so you can expect the same cyclocross action as last year. 🤘

Hey Bro Derek, All human powered bikes are allowed to ride. Gravel bikes are the best tool for the job if you're racing, there are a handful of really short sections that might be easier on an MTB, but G Bikes seems to be the fastest option for the route. @Jewbacca smashed it last year on a BMX wearing Jorts, what a legend.

Hey guys! If you're looking for another gravel weekend, have a squizz at our friends https://roadtodesolation.cc/ It's honestly one of the best race routes and vibes on the calendar. Sure, Graaff-Reinet is DEEP, but its totally worth the mission. The roadtrip is part of the vibe. The town buzzes over the race weekend. Can't recommend this event hard enough. Hope to see some of you guys up there, and also keen to hear what stings more... Galgeberg or The Valley. OAGBFR
