  1. According to several fitment centre's here - there is no aftermarket tobar available for the 3008
  2. Thanks all - the risk of driving into my carport with the bike on is a huge risk - especially if tired after a long ride! Also 130km/h speed limit is not going to work down to Argus (am in EL)! @caad4 - yes, PUG's have a bad rep BUT: I bought my 3008 as a 2 month old demo and saved 50k off the sticker price so that will help with depreciation. I have always driven Ford - but spec-wise, this 3008 knocks most other cars out the park on price plus the 1.6T engine is a beaut (from mini cooper s, detuned). Plus the dealer I use has 2 family members in senior positions, so I am assured of great service and backup. Looks like detachable towbar it is....
  3. I need some help/advice: Transporting my bicycle in the back of my Ranger Supercab was always an easy affair! Now I am in a Peugeot 3008 and need to decide how to transport the bike around. My options are either removable goos-neck towbar as I don't like a permanent towage on the back, or, roof bars with bicycle carrier and transport the bike upright on the roof. I quite like the idea of transporting on the roof as it leaves the boot free to load / unload. My concern is wind noise and increased fuel consumption. Has anyone used an upright roof-mounted bicycle carrier - what negative side effects are there? Would appreciate any input!
  4. Thanks all! Putting the Gatorskin on the rear tonight...... just might change the front to a Gator too for Argus.... Will then just keep my good Ultra Sport as a training\spare tyre. I could kick myself because the dealer where I bought my bike from had Gator's on special for R275 in January! ARGH!!
  5. I weigh 110KG's - and the rims have 700x23 tyres on.... I am pumping to 9 BAR before every ride. Could my weight be disadvantaging me with punctures - do I need to go for a wider tyre or can I just chalk up the punctures to my "bad cycle" ? Thanks to you all for the feedback in this thread!
  6. They are slightly (ultra's are black while the protective brown weave of the gators show through on the sidewall) but that is not a concern for me. I had a puncture on my old bike in last years Argus and I will do ANYTHING to avoid going through that again....... Gatorskin thumbs up?
  7. Any negatives attached to running 2 different tyres front and back? They WILL be same sizing though.
  8. I have done 700KM on my new Raleigh RC6000 which came with Continental Ultra Sport tyres on Mavic Aksium rims. My back tyre has goven me 3 punches so far and I have decided to replace with a much more puncture resistant tyre, namely the Conti Gatorskin. My question is: can I put the gatorskin on the back rim (all 3 puntures occured on the rear) and keep running the Ultra Sport up front as it still looks brand new and hasn't given me any trouble. Am I correct in saying the Ultra Sports are terrible at puncture resistance?
  9. Can someone assist. I haven't received my email yet but I checked online and it says I am in WW which is strange as I had 1 seeding ride and an argus last year AND I am a PPA member. Is WW before or after the pedal power groups? Can anyone point me in the direction of the whole list of groups. Tnx
