  1. Here are the top 10 scores after completing 1 tour (as of Feb. 16, 2011): 2983 3075 3122 3179 3320 3324 3488 3608 4008 4212 Again, the game will tell you your ranking and display this table when you save your score. Why didn't you save your score? It was a good one! Ray
  2. 3292 would put you in third place of all the people who have submitted a score for finishing 1 tour. By the way, the game will tell you this when you submit your score. Ray
  3. I've created an on-line bike touring game that I call Armchair Biketouring. My goal in creating the game was to give people an idea of what bike touring is like without all that annoying bicycling! If you are an experienced bike tourists (as some of the people on this site are), you may find that the game doesn't match your experience. As such, I should let you know that, due to design choices, the game doesn't allow stealth camping. Also, food can be purchased from a grocery store but no allowance is made for cooking. So, a player can't buy bags of rice and beans for $6 and live on it for a week. But, since you aren't spending real money, it shouldn't hurt too much to "splurge" a bit! I have included weather, terrain, scenery, calorie usage and consumption, bonking, places to sleep, flat tires, broken spokes, budgets, and road angels. I wrote an article about the game, if you'd like more information about it. I'd be interested in any feedback on it. To run the game, use the link in the first line or this direct link: http://www.biketouringtips.com/ArmchairBikeTouring . Ray

  6. The on-line bike touring archive at http://www.biketouringtips.com has no bike touring entires from South Africa. Are there any bike tourists on this site that can add some links/experiences? Adding things to the archive requires a free registration. Thanks, Ray
  7. There is a new bike touring website at http://www.biketouringtips.com The idea behind the archive is to create an indexed, on-line collection of useful websites, discussion topics, personal insights, and travel journals. The archive is indexed by location and topic and can be searched by either or both. Currently, the archive has over 400 entries on over 60 countries. The archive is designed so that anyone can enter information into it after a free registration. Ray
