  1. Thats a long list of people looking for teams!! Damn!
  2. Be aware of going to a shop and coming out with the wrong size bike-many have. It is better to go to a mainstream shop that does a good fit out. Two that come to mind are Cyclelab Fourways who will not let you leave with the wrong size bike as i experienced) or Sportsbasement Rivonia who have a fit out guy in-house. Buying online often leads to buying the wrong size bike such as I did and many on the hub. rather buy locally and save yourself the hassle of import duties and wrong sizes.
  3. fair point....they don't really target the lower to middle range of cyclists. Well done Liam.
  4. Reading some of the postings was funny. Thanx for the entertainment. I have to add that I have found Liam at NC very helpful even tuning my bike personally on a saturday when they are very busy (much appreciated). It is regrettable that Liam didn't filter his thoughts before putting them on the hub and it will take him some work to recover lost ground. A good start will be to kick off the auctions again and continue them on a regular basis. The fact is that they are a premium store as judged by the brands that predominate their store such as Pini and the fact that they are 5-10% more on the lesser items and more than that on the higher value items. They simply don't target the plebs scrounging for parts on the hub or the www-they target the affluent upper income market and serious racers. ...anyway thats my 5 cents....
  5. and they do bike fits so you will walk out with the right size bike.
  6. Try The Sports Basement on Humber Road in Woodmead for clearance bikes. They have Jamis and Trek alu and carbon bikes with 105. Carbon is overrated. Get a decent alu bike with solid wheels and that will give you a few years of good solid riding until you get fit and strong and ready to transition to a race bike.
  7. I was robbed in our complex car park in Honeydew, Jhb (07.07.11) at gunpoint and lost 3 bike: 1 x Look 595 Ultra 2009 (black & white), 1 x Fuji Roubaix 2009 (white) and 1 x KHS 3000MTB. Reward offered for the return of the bikes depending on condition.
