**highjack on**speaking of nothern farms' date=' my fiance and i saw a big rinkhals there on saturday morning. Was awesome, you rarely see snakes in the wild and to see such a big one very close to jhb was cool. So if you take your kids there just be on the lookout.**highjack off**[/quote']
Last week my son was bitten by what we think was a Puffy on the single track at the top of the forest near the end of the race route. Luckily for him (probably not the Puffy) his MTB shoes have tons of reinforcing round the tow area.

I must compliment the race course builder for using every single piece of single track he could find. Also if there was an option between a technical section or a chicken route, he chose the technical section. Well done.
Far to often races at NF tend to be a bland, boring series of dirt roads and jeep tracks. Not this one.
awesome pic and bike.
I seem to have found the answer on page 8 of this document:

and another spoke length calc tool:

I've heard that applying a drop of the appropriate brake fluid to edge of the pistons does help the brakes release a bit better. Please note this is something I've heard and never tried. Also it is vital to use the correct fluid otherwise the seals may be damaged.
love mine' date=' although lots of hassles with air in my Juicy Ultimates. Can't wait for my bleed kit to arrive.

Are you buying an Avid Bleed kit or one from Brent ?
Just got me one from Brent !
Yip, checking my post box almost every day now.
Avid as good as Shimano ?

How does one measure the flange distance in order to input a user defined hub in the DT Swiss online spoke length calculator? Is this a measure from the center of the hub or the outside?
Even better would be if someone had the data for Shimano LX M-585 hubs as the manufacturer doesn't think we might need to know!!!
ouch!!! lots of beer and pain killers required for a good nights sleep tonight.
110% Eldron...

Is this the same hubber that would hire a kid as a secret assassin?

Exactly what I was thinking.
can anybody send him spam or maybe a virus.
I'm tempted to do this I'll create a new email account on my hosted domain and then spam the crap out him. I'll just change the meta information in the headers to come from his own email address
You know this is still trace able via the SMTP server logs.
I was going to set-up a DOS like attack on his web site, this would have worked really, really well if hosted in SA where it would have pushed his bandwidth usage through the roof, however it was not to be.
However a script posting to his contact form (on his web site) via an annonymous proxy would be pretty tough to trace.

The Deal Extreme light seems like an affordable option. It has had a very good review by master bike light builder Troutie. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149
I'll let you know when it arrives.

To answer your first question 2008. I have one and love it.
people...people...people. you have his name ' date=' you have is cell number. go onto Gumtree and advertise stuff that Ken wants to sell e.g. his X5 for R200k, or put an add in the personals for stuff that Ken wants done to him.[/quote']
I like that idea.
Hmmm. "Ken wants to dress up like Barbie for a real Lion of a man. Will donat X5 to sucksessful candidate. I even have 20 pizzas that we can wolf down afterwards. Even though this sounds a little fishy, I am casting around for a "collosal prick""!Whatcha think?

Rad' date=' the most popular setup that Ive seen around is a conti mountain king on front and a speed king on the back.
Would anyone else agree??[/quote']
I've actually got a Race King on the back and a Mountain King up front.
I think this is the combination you will find at the sharp end of most XC and marathon races at the moment. I'm very, very happy with mine. Also about half the SA retail price if bought from CRC.
My second choice would be Racing Ralphs, however the side walls slice up very, very easily.

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=3>I have a 15C 18.5 volt 5 cell 2200 ma Lipo running my light. I am using a balanced charger to charge the battery. What should the recommended charging current be?
I ran it at 1amp the other day and it took a 180 minutes to load. Then I ran it at 1.2 amps and it was loaded in about 80 minutes. The cells did not heat up at all, but I know one should take care when working with Lipo's. Incidentally as always the charger and battery came with instructions that provides you with less than the bare minimum. Any suggestions. I would like to charge it in 1 hour while still looking after the battery.[/quote']
Lipos shouldn't be charged any faster than 1C, so in your case 2.2A
Problem is it's not "us" vs "them". Have you not seen how some cyclists also become assholes behind a steering wheel. These guys are also often assholes on a saddle. Assholes are assholes no matter what mode of transport they are using.
As more than aptly demonstrated by some jerk leaving the bike park on Wednesday evening. He obviously had a life or death emergency to take care off.
