i can definitely see why some rate cleats and others not. i mean climbing cleats are a win. but it doesnt feel right on the technical stuffs. since i have gone back to normal pedals my times are better overall. i think thats because i can fly thru the gnarly stuff without caring about being cleated. i do have some quality flatties on my bike, with the pins n all. so maybe methinks that once i have gained the confidence to ride the trails like slippery seal water, then i might give the cleats another chance...

yo yo, whats ur guys take on cleats for mtb races... i had cleats, gone back to normal takkies. i cant make up my mind what i prefer. i prefer the cleats for the flats, hills. But when it comes to the technical stuff i like being able to pop a foot out when i feel the urge. what do u guys race in??

hey all, what do you guys rate of the 2012 silverback range. im looking for a new upgrade next year and thinking of getting a 29'er, possibly one of the vida's, or mercury sport. anybody ridden one of these yet?? im looking at either Vida 1 or... mercury comp.

Hey guys, not sure if this has been said yet. but what if we could organize something of our own protection services for some trails. ie, maybe there should be like R20 added onto our club fees or license fees etc, or perhaps even event fees, maybe that money could be invested in securing trails, or providing private trails. We as riders need to take a social responsibility in this as well. otherwise it will hurt this awesome sport. It was just a thought so dnt shoot me down.

any thoughts on the scott range? the aspect 40 goes for around 4k and the 30 for around 5k i think.

hey all, has anyone got anything to say about this bike as an entry level bike? will do mostly road riding, but want the option to do some offroad stuff as well. im a tall rider, 6.5ft weighing in around 110kg. so looking for a decent entry bike. cant really spend more than 5k. thanks all
