  1. We are driving back from Taupo, rode part of the "Great lake trail"... Wow!! We will go back to do all parts in the near future. We went unsupported (so no car or boat shuttles) and rode with Layla either on the front of the MTB or at the back of the gravel bike (during nap time). It was really nice trails!
  2. Senior in IT ++$120k (plus benefits)! At least.
  3. About 2 months ago this company was looking for a new engineer/manager. I told my partner to apply (he is boat crazy), but then he just said "it's got a motor"....(he is sailboat crazy). Many of those around where I stayb and yes the owners drive them from home to the boat ramp.
  4. That is quite a difficult design to get past the council. The report alone will cost you at least $5k to proof to council it can withstand that water pressure and mounting conditions etc.
  5. Nothing fancy, but just for roped in to join a team for this https://www.bluedogevents.nz/events/10-hour-daynighter-and-6-hour-blast If anyone will be down there then, come see me suffer after my 1st mtb race after becoming a mommy
  6. My partner will NEVER let me buy that and bring that home. We have very strict rules with sweets and unhealthy snacks at home.
  7. I won't care about the decile of my little ones school, not from a teaching focus at all. Low decile schools have great teachers and they tend to go on more courses keeping up with things more regularly. I'll be more concerned about the influences and examples of the children that's in school with my little one. So bad behaviour from a non respectful way can be at decile 1 and 10 schools (the latter just because they are brats). Typically the middle class are seen as hard workers, but also still with respect because their parents keep them to rules etc. But then again, you'd find bad and good where ever you go.
  8. Our little one just turned 2!! And she's to big for her 1st bike now.
  9. Good to know, I've been wanting to move ours but when I phoned Chores they said I must contact our broadband provider. Just haven't got to that yet
  10. My company is going to do the upgrade for the Queenstown Skyline, so soon I'll be riding there too
  11. Anyone keen to ride with us from Auckland to Hamilton or Cambridge with the bikes and then train back one weekend? The New Zealand Trail people want to do an article about us doing our bicycle trips with our little one and well that's going to be the 'next trip' they want to focus on after the initial article. So we are starting the planning. Anyone here actually done it?
  12. Nope, these ones they use to do engravings etc too, so not just through cuts.
  13. Seen this done with a laser cutter before. One of my previous colleagues did it on a laser cutter we had in our modelshops.
  14. Our little one just wants to go to the "parkie". Shame, she's found it hard to understand why she coudn't go swing, slide or climb. She loooooves the worm type slides, ones I would never have gone down at her age.
  15. Never really heard that someone calls themselves to be knowledgeable... That's usually something someone says of someone else as a good characteristics. Generally people with pure knowledge are quite humble too. Opinionated vs knowledgeable.
  16. Apparently so. Got a text at 6:13pm from a colleague saying she saw me on TV, then a couple more for friends, Layla's school friends mom's, etc etc I didn't know the interview was for tv or news! Thought it was just for some student project or something.
  17. All that I was saying is that I think Interns comment that "everyone" is struggling is not correct. I know of a few that have had higher returns / revenue, I used the shares market as an indicator to where anyone can start to look at those companies. I don't have the time nor do I think the hub will allow the character space on this thread to mention all including aspects to every side of what I'm referring to, hence me simplifying it here. I assumed for the ones that generally comment on everything as if they have "know how" of everything wouldn't need a full explanation.... Anyhow, I've been wrong before too.
  18. You are generalising a lot here. Some manufacturing and supply companies in NZ are some of the only in the world that are better off now than before Covid-19 (go look at share prices). I've seen very negative (basically only negative) comments from you about NZ lately, as if it bit you in the as. Like Wayne said, I'd rather be here than anywhere else in the world right now.
  19. My experience from my years of building Lego, I do not understand how people in NZ can get away with building houses (support walls etc) with those blocks all in one line. They don't overlap half-half. Surely it takes strength away from the build, especially in places that needs it where lands move distantly.
  20. We had 2 already. Was just asking about possible other solutions or what other people might be using in the industry.
  21. So I was kinda put in charge as our companies COVID-19 champion.... Meaning I had to make the whole process on how to get us back into business and into the office, part of that a new remote induction of course... So I used the following to show what has changed in the Auckland office... https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=7WcwKLdwLVf&brand=0 If you guys want something like this for your own companies, check out BVT's LinkedIn page to see everything we can offer... There's more with regards to for plans, pop-up hand basins, etc.
  22. Ah, I'd love some time there again. Must have changed quite a bit now since I was last there almost 2 years+9 months ago
  23. I can't take any more of this lockdown!!! I need out. We need out! Even our little daughter is going crazy! A drive in the car is like a drug. The word "school" sends her running for her bag and shoes and then she paces to the car. I feel for her! I need to go to work!! I need sushi when I want it!
  24. It does look great! Thanks for the info! I am sure I'll be in contact
  25. No, not meeting room type setups. It will be to set up a construction site and to do designs or inspections layouts etc
