  1. Back again, did I understand correctly??? "Fork mount bike carrier" being a carrier mounted on the bike, or a bike carrier mounted on a vehicle ?? If the latter then please ignore my babbling on-----
  2. Hi LethalDose, I've cycled many hundred km with a KogaMiyata World Traveler doing the tent and wild camping thingi. I must add the bikes fork had the correct fitting for a TUBUS carrier. Before that I cycled a Peugeot and here I used the normal screw clamps to secure a fork carrier and cycled a 600km tour without any problems, I must have had about 25kg up front and 40 on the back, no problems, just make sure you have the correct tyre pressure and a good idea is to put some tubing between the clamp and the paint work, this will help protect the paint job help stop the carrier from slipping. If you are transporting the bikes on your roof rack, it's a good idea to remove the mudguards if you have them, just saves the loss if they do come off. The carrier I would leave on, cant see any problems with excessive wind resistance. What ever you decide, have a cool trip and enjoy...
  3. Firstly hi all, I'm knew to "thehub" and new to mountain biking in general. I've been reading about pressures/ tires and things and notice that inflating with a bomb will pump to +- 6bar if not regulated !!!(enough needed to limp on a racing bike) but surely the pressure administered into a MTB tyre needs to be controlled if you run on lower pressures. So here my question, are you using a p/gauge if needed while out in the sticks or do you use a fancy gizmoe to regulate from the start!!! Look forward to some info. Enjoy the weekend
