All the chrome parts were re-chromed, but the rims were badly pitted from the rust and the chrome plating couldn't mask this. So I painted the inside of the rims to compensate.

I have finally completed the restoration of my Peugeot Lion. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm happy with the result. Thanks to Peter at Road Cycles in Silverton for all his advice and for sourcing a lot of the parts.

That's brilliant! I had one as a youngster in around 1981, but it got stolen a few months after I bought it. I've been looking for one for years, but they seem rare and there's practicaly no info on the internet about these Peugeot Lions. I've found a source overseas for parts, buy I'd like to but locally first if I can. Please will you take some detail pics of the carrier for me. Good day All, I have recently bought a late 70s Peugeot bicycle which I want to restore. I'm looking for parts locally for the bike, like tyres, brake, brake blocks among others - can anyone suggest someone or a shop that might still have parts for an old bike like this? I can get from overseas, but I'd like to try locally first. I'm in Pretoria and would appreciate any leads.
