  1. I'm looking to sell my Rook On Chromo. See the ad here: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/commuter-bikes/511006/rook-one-chromo
  2. I'm selling my 36" Monster Bike.... https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/366694-coker-monster-cruiser-36/
  3. I miss my Polar 725, sadly I was robbed and the thieving gits took it.
  4. My wife gave me a Christopher Ward Malvern C5 Automatic 9 years ago and I wear it everyday. I never tire of it's elegant simplicity and it's rather nice little party trick on the back.
  5. I had the front brake calliper done late last week and reassembled it over the weekend. Very happy with how it's looking now!
  6. Looks like a sweet ride.
  7. I finally got my hands on one locally. I've wanted one for years and it turned out that the local unicycle dealer (www.oddwheel.co.za) had one in storage, so having sold my road bike I had enough to buy it. I've attached 3 photos showing it in it in various stages of my doing it up. I just got the mud guards and chain guard back from the chrome platers and I'm well pleased with how they look. I swapped the hideous black brake lever for an old school stainless steel one and it looks much better. Beyond that I've not done much, swapped a few bolts for stainless steel and put football valve caps on. I'm now saving up to get a decent paint job done on the frame. I'm also eyeing up a Brooks saddle and grips for it and would like to add a Sturmey Archer 3spd hub. The first pic is of the Coker by the beach. At this point I hadn't done anything to it, I was just enjoying the blast of riding it, and it is a lot of fun! The second & third pics show it with the newly chromed mud & chain guards and I'm very happy with the results. Some observations based on other posts: the brakes are pretty awful. I tightened the front brake up and it's a lot better but the rear brake is next to useless. Braking on the Coker definitely requires a bit of forethought when out and about and can make some situations a little hairraising, especially when morons just pull out in front without looking! I get asked a lot of questions about it and have even been chased by someone in a car who wanted to buy it. In the end I had to tell him that it wasn't for sale and would he mind leaving me alone, after all, I don't come to the gym and bust your balls when you're exercising!
  8. They were two Xhosa guys with blades. One had a sickle the other a rusty pair of scissors. They were hiding behind a tree and jumped out on me at the last minute. I really thought they were going to stab me. The leader had a crazed look in his eyes and it was all I could do to calm him down and promise him I wasn't going to fight him. He never once lowered his sickle/blade and was very very agressive. I made a point of looking at him a lot and only spoke to him so hopefully my description of him will help the cops. Please please be very careful up there if you're on your own!
  9. Thanks for your support guys. I was actually riding my 29er unicycle so I couldn't exactly ride away from the thieves. It happened on the servitude road quite close to High Riding and the scumbags ran off towards Knoerhoek/Di Cape winery area. Thankfully they left my uni alone, I don't think they could quite fathom it out. LOL! But mostly I'm just very grateful that they didn't hurt me in any way. Please if you ride up in the area be very careful.
  10. Hi guys Just want to let you know that I was robbed whilst riding on the railway servitude road in Sir Lowry's. This is a popular route for local MTB'ers and it's a very sad day when such a beautiful place to ride becomes too dangerous. I was robbed by two guys with weapons but thankfully I'm OK. They stole my Polar HRM (S725X) but were too stupid to find my cell phone in the secret pocket of my shorts. I reported the incident at Sir Lowry's police station, they were very helpful! Sadly they told me I was the second robbery up there this morning. Please if you're going to ride up there don't go alone. Also, if anyone is offered a Polar S725X HRM with the profile 'Dino' on it, please let me know.
