  1. Event Name: Bezhoek Extreme MTB Festival When: 1 June 2019 - 2 June 2019 Where: Bezuidenhoutshoek Private Nature Reserve, Mpumulanga Category: MTB The Bezhoek Extreme MTB Festival is a bucket list event that offers an experience that will want to make you come back for more. We have partnered with the Endangered Wildlife Trust who is also our official beneficiary with all proceeds donated to conservation and rehabilitation. All routes were designed and laid out by X-Trax, our Partner and Specialist trail builder. The routes were designed to challenge riders to the maximum and to offer a real mountain bike experience. A number of professional riders took part in our inaugural event in 2018 and you can take their word for it. Bezhoek Extreme is proudly hosted at the Olifants River Lodge and our hospitality partner will ensure you are taken care of from the moment you arrive on Friday until you leave on Sunday afternoon. All entries include tented accommodation and meals for the weekend. The race village is family friendly with kiddies play areas, and indoor heated swimming pools to keep the non-riding spouses relaxed while the riders battle things out on the trails. This fully services race was an enormous hit in 2018 and promises even more in 2019. Go to Event Page
  2. Event Name: Bezhoek Extreme MTB Festival When: 1 June 2018 - 3 June 2018 Where: Olifants River Lodge, Mpumulanga Category: MTB The Bezhoek Extreme MTB Festival is an awesome, 3-day event that is being hosted for the first time at Bezuidenhoutshoek Nature Reserve. These routes will not be open to the public and you’ll have the opportunity to be one of the first riders to tackle these exclusive routes. Let’s face it, the events calendar is littered with stage races where races are reduced to, and riders are charged for, district road riding. We did not like that, so we set out to create an event that will remind you what mountain biking is all about… exhilarating single track, trails that have never been ridden before and water points that’ll take your breath away. The Farm is situated in the Olifants River valley in Middelburg, Mpumalanga and is designated as irreplaceable and highly significant in terms of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Authority’s bio diversity assessment criteria which qualify it to be registered as a Protected area. The Olifants and Klein Olifants rivers converge in the North Western corner of the farm and meander on to Loskop and the Kruger National Park. Go to Event Page
  3. Hi All, I’ve read your concerns regarding NavWorld’s updated support policy for Garmin devices and I just wanted to address these directly. Navworld was contracted by Garmin Southern Africa to perform repairs, updates and replacements in accordance with the international and local warranty and service policies. This contract has not been renewed and Navworld is no longer in a position to offer the full range of services. Garmin Southern Africa took this service in-house effective 1 January 2018 and they will not allow any reseller or third party to exchange devices in or out of warranty on their behalf. Navworld can still offer first line support like updates, unit resets and fault finding but unfortunately, for any replacements the faulty units will have to go to Rosebank. Customers can take their units to the Garmin office in Rosebank but it will still be booked in and you will have to return to collect your fixed or replacement device. We understand the potential inconvenience this is causing for our customers but we appreciate your understanding in this regard. As always, we’ll try our utmost to assist our customers with any issues they may have. You can check our support page here: http://navworld.co.za/support/ Any other questions? Let me know, I’ll be happy to assist. Roan
  4. You get what you pay for. Not only in terms of product and software but also after sales service, reliability and and and... I suggest save the money and buy the Edge.
  5. Remember CRC is not the authorised distributor for Garmin in SA. Warranty will probably be an issue. You won't get the same backup as the guy who bought his from an SA retailer.
  6. If you say "that kind of money" are you referring to the normal/special price? They are currently on special @ R4.5k
  7. Oh and I guess weighing in at less than 10 makes the frame much lighter than the GT then. With the XT stuff and wheels and the DT Fork mine is still around 11.5.
  8. That is one damn sexy ride! The black and burnt orange is a winner.
  9. Well I was mistaken about the build in SA then. Thought the factory was in Pietermaritzburg. Feel the same way about the GT. Maybe replacing the Avalance frame with a Zaskar will be a less emotional move. Did the Sani as well and I felt that 3 days on a hardtail was already an achievement. I don't really do fun rides - recovery happens in the gym. So if the Zula and hard riding goes together I will definitely have a look at it as well.
  10. I've been upgrading my GT Avalanche 1.0 as I went along and as funds became available. Almost everything XT apart from the DT Fork... still bolted onto the GT frame. Although slightly on the heavy side I have peace of mind, knowing nothing short of a nuclear bomb will destruct a GT frame. I'm looking at getting a new frame and would like to hear from current and previous Morewood owners. Maybe not something to base a decision on but I love the fact that it's build in SA. The most important question I have is whether it will be able to take the same hammering the GT can withstand. I'm a fairly good technical rider and really don't hold back on downhills or drops. I haven't succumbed to the conform of the dual susser and so I have an eye on the 26" Kwela. Any comments on this or other Morewood pros/cons?
  11. I'm curious to know whether you got it serviced before that weekend. I've been struggling for over 4 weeks to get my shock serviced and my local bike shop is blaming the service agent for the delay. Returned from the Sani this weekend and I was informed of another delay.
